Doctor of Biological Sciences (Biophysics) by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, complemented by studies at the Albert Einstein Faculty of Medicine, Yeshiva University, New York, postdoctoral studies at the Collège de France, Paris, and currently an associate professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Previous research encompasses cellular biophysics and neurobiology. More recently, in the foreground, the interface between systems neurobiology and epistemology, in which art is explored as a system of access and mastery of the subjective and objective processes of constructing human knowledge of the world, contributing as a parallel reference for an emerging neuroepistemology that considers non-cognitive-narrative resources involved in the background of scientific experiences and conceptions.
