Maizul Imran was born in the Bukittinggi, West Sumatra (May 27th 1991). He graduated from the State Islamic College of Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi in 2013 with a Bachelor Degree (SHI) in Family Law major. He holds an (MA) in Applied Islamic Law from the State Islamic Institute of Bukittinggi, earned in 2015. The thesis by title "The Progressive Islamic Thought in Family Law: Distinguishing Ibn Hazm Jurisprudence on Islamic Law Reform in Indonesia", was promoted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ismail, M.Ag and Asst. Prof. Dr. Busyro, M.Ag.
