Maria Tavares [Lisbon, 1970] is an architect who has been practicing since 1994. She is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Arts, Lusíada University [FAA/UL], where she has been teaching since 2003. She is a research associate at the Design, Architecture and Territory Research Centre [CITAD], ULL. She collaborates with the Center for Studies in Architecture and Urbanism [CEAU], FAUP, in the Atlas da Casa group [AdC]. Currently, Maria teaches architectural design studio at the integrated master´s degree and is responsible for the Phenomenology of Architecture seminar of the UL Doctoral Programme. Maria holds a Degree in Architecture [1994], a Master Degree in Residential Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture, Technical University of Lisbon [FA-UTL/2003], and a PhD in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Porto [FAUP/2016].
