  • From Social Values to Green Capabilities: Perceived Linkages Toward Organisational Sustainability
Nicoleta Valentina Florea, Gabriel Croitoru, Violeta Andreea Andreiana, Aurelia-Aurora Diaconeasa, Mihai Bogdan Croitoru
    Sustainability Switzerland, 2026
Organisations increasingly combine social innovation and environmentally orientated technologies in response to sustainability and stakeholder pressures. However, empirical evidence remains limited on how organisational actors perceive and cognitively associate social innovation, green technologies, and practices related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in emerging European economies. This study addresses this gap by examining whether employees and managers perceive these dimensions as interconnected and whether green technologies represent a statistically significant indirect association between social innovation and SDG-related organisational practices. Using a cross-sectional online survey of 265 employees and managers from Romanian companies in production, services, IT, and commerce, we estimated an exploratory structural model through partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal strong positive associations between perceived social innovation and SDG-related organisational practices, as well as between perceived social innovation and green technologies. Green technologies are also positively associated with SDG-related practices and exhibit a statistically significant indirect association within the observed pattern of associations. Consistent with perception-based research design, these findings suggest that respondents cognitively group social and technological initiatives as complementary components of a broader sustainability orientation, rather than indicating statistical or process-based mechanisms. The study contributes to organisational sustainability research by integrating social innovation and green technologies within a single organisational-level framework and by providing context-specific evidence from Romania, an under-represented central and Eastern European context.
  • The impact of well-being on work performance: Analyzing the mediating role of work satisfaction

Zbornik Radova Ekonomskog Fakulteta U Rijeci Proceedings of Rijeka Faculty of Economics, 2025
This study investigates the impact of employee well-being—emotional, economic, and relational – on organizational performance, emphasizing the mediating role of job satisfaction. A quantitative method was applied using survey data collected from 191 employees in Dâmbovița County, Romania. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) was employed to test the proposed hypotheses. Results indicate that economic and emotional well-being positively influence job satisfaction, which in turn significantly predicts work performance. Economic well-being also directly affects performance. However, relational well-being does not show significant effects. The study offers theoretical contributions by outlining the unique influence of each well-being dimension, along with practical implications for HR policies aimed at enhancing employee satisfaction and performance. The research provides new insights into how job satisfaction influences the relationship between various types of well-being and performance in a Central-Eastern European context.
  • Methods to attract and retain talented employees in Romanian organizations: A Compared Approach Between X, Y, and Z Generations
Nicoleta Valentina Florea, Gabriel Croitoru, Valentina Ofelia Robescu, Daria Florea, Mihai Bogdan Croitoru
Global Practices on Effective Talent Acquisition and Retention, 2024
Companies to achieve their objectives need talented employees with unique skills and competencies to obtain competitive advantage. The chapter's goal is to analyze the influence of attracting and retaining talents on organizational performance in Romanian companies. There were also investigated the characteristics of the three generations of talents, perceived through these human resources (HR) processes. Using PLS-SEM 4.0, it was determined that all the attraction and retention proposed variables had a positive and direct influence on organizational performance. The most important influential attraction factors are brand and nondiscrimination (4.63), salary and work conditions (4.60), and as retaining factors the offered training programs and good communication (4.73) and working atmosphere (4.70). The three generations were analysed according to attraction and retention variables, and because their scores were different, HR department could build a future guide based on their specificities in order to attract the best talents and to keep them to achieve long run performance.
  • Financial sustainability and the wellbeing of the elder Romanian population using pension modelling: A social and economic impact factor-based analysis
Nicoleta Valentina Florea, Gabriel Croitoru, Valentina Ofelia Robescu, Daria Florea, Mihai Bogdan Croitoru
Social and Ethical Implications of AI in Finance for Sustainability, 2024
The system of pensions is a very important part of the society, and due to increased ageing of population, life expectancy, healthy life years, and reduced fertility rate, the financial sustainability will be a global problem in the next future. The goal of this chapter is to analyse the social and economic factors impact on pensions and financial sustainability and propose some measures to improve well-being of elder Romanian population based on technology modelling. Using mathematical modelling, the R square indicated that 99.47% of the evolution of variable pension (Y) is explained by the evolution of social factors (X1-X7) and that 99.98% is explained by the evolution of economic factors (X8-X14). The correlations between variables and covariance are indicating an influence which is affecting the stability of the pension fund and financial sustainability. Using technology modelling, the specialists could find future sustainable solutions for the pension system and to improve well-being for elder Romanian pension population.
