Dr. M. M. Bachalapur is the Chief Librarian at BLDEA's Vachana Pitamaha Dr. P. G. Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology, Vijayapur, Karnataka. He completed his Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLISc) in 1991 and his Master of Library and Information Science (MLISc) in 1992 at Karnatak University. He obtained his Ph.D. from Karnatak University in 2005 and earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking (PGDLAN) from the University of Hyderabad in 2007.

Dr. M.M.Bachalapur has published over 50 research papers in various journals and conferences and has edited five conference proceedings. He has presented research papers at numerous national and international conferences. In 2019, he served as a member of the steering committee for the VTU Consortium. He is the Nodal Officer for the National Digital Library of India, the Vidwan Expert Database, and the VTU Consortium. With over 32 years of experience in Library and Information Science (LIS) and
