A Novel Deep Learning Model Based Cancerous Lung Nodules Severity Grading Framework Using CT Images P. Mohan Kumar, V. E. Jayanthi International Journal of Imaging Systems and Technology, 2025 Lung cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer‐related mortality, with early diagnosis being critical for improving patient survival rates. Existing deep learning models for lung nodule severity classification face significant challenges, including overfitting, computational inefficiency, and inaccurate segmentation of nodules from CT images. To overcome these limitations, this study proposes a novel deep learning framework integrating a Quadrangle Attention‐based U‐shaped Convolutional Transformer (QA‐UCT) for segmentation and a Spatial Attention‐based Multi‐Scale Convolution Network (SMCN) for classification. CT images are enhanced using the Rotationally Invariant Block Matching‐based Non‐Local Means (RIB‐NLM) filter to remove noise while preserving structural details. The QA‐UCT model leverages transformer‐based global attention mechanisms combined with convolutional layers to segment lung nodules with high precision. The SMCN classifier employs spatial attention mechanisms to categorize nodules as solid, part‐solid, or non‐solid based on severity. The proposed model was evaluated on the Lung Image Database Consortium and Image Database Resource Initiative (LIDC‐IDRI) dataset. This proposed model achieves a 98.73% dice score for segmentation and 99.56% classification accuracy, outperforming existing methods such as U‐Net, VGG, and autoencoders. Improved precision and recall demonstrate superior performance in lung nodule grading. This study introduces a transformer‐enhanced segmentation and spatial attention based classification framework that significantly improves lung nodule detection accuracy. The integration of QA‐UCT and SMCN enhances both segmentation precision and classification reliability. Future research will explore adapting this framework for liver and kidney segmentation, as well as optimizing computational efficiency for real‐time clinical deployment.
Multi-Model Acquisition of Physiological Response for Emotion determination P Mohan Kumar, K Praghathiswari, S Saranya, Ve Jayanthi 2024 4th International Conference on Advance Computing and Innovative Technologies in Engineering Icacite 2024, 2024 Emotion is a mental state connected by the nervous system that alters feeling, behavioral responses, thoughts, and the level of pleasure or displeasure. Emotion is a core in how we behave and influence the decision that we make in our life. This system is lodged to determine the emotion by the physiological responses that change with autonomous nervous system activity. This system is incorporated with non-invasive and low-cost sensors that measure physiological signals and with LCD as a display. Sensors are clubbed together for accurate results. The parameters measured are heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and galvanic skin response (GSR). The variations in these parameters are discovered by using the Arduino interface. This device uses the Aurdino interface and experiment on real-life scenarios has an accurate outcome. The emotional characteristics such as happiness, sadness, fear, anger, surprise, and disgust were determined. The system was tested with 60 subjects and the results were tabulated.
Determination of Breast Cancer Using Neural Networks B. Mahalakshmi, D. Vidhya, N. Niroja, P. Mohankumar IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Techniques in Control Optimization and Signal Processing Incos 2019, 2019 Breast cancer is the second leading causes of disease in women. In practice effective ways to prevent breast cancer is still researched for a better solution, since the cause is not yet organised completely. Early detection is an effective way to diagnose and manage breast cancer can give better chance of full recovery. This work focuses on detection of breast cancer in digital mammograms. In this paper various preprocessing methods, segmentation process and classifier were discussed. In our work, Support Vector Machine is used to show accuracy on the breast cancer image. The accuracy test we had undergone using three SVM techniques.

Physiological problems and quality of life of patients with breast cancer: A review P KUMAR, J.V JEBASINGH Biomedical and Pharmacology Journal, 2015 Breast cancer is not only the second most prevalent type of cancer, but also most frequent cause of cancer deaths in women. Breast cancer is a steroid hormone dependent tumor. In worldwide breast cancer considered to be the important and prevalent cancer among women. The disease itself may have an impact on the patient’s psychological well-being and quality of life. Breast cancer patients with depression during treatment are found to have poorer health related quality of life. Still a lot of differences were observed between depression and treatment type. In this paper breast cancer related physiological problems, treatment processes and quality of life based on these processes are reviewed. Result: After thorough review of various works and observation of studies it is concluded that the screening practices of breast cancer is still low and Patient health related quality of life should be improved.
