  • Task Interdependence, Team Identity and Team Performance: A Bottom-Up Multilevel Model
Sunu Widianto, Haider Muhammad Abdul Sahib, and Muhammad Fajar Wahyudi Rahman

    SAGE Publications
Most research on social identity theory has been separately examined either at the team or individual levels. This paper aims to expand the use of the social identity theory and illuminates an emerging mechanism of task interdependence at the individual level that can affect the nature of the team identity by testing how team power distance act as a moderator Iraqi universities, this study employs multilevel structural equation modeling (MSEM) with Mplus 7.2 to test the model. The results reveal a positive indirect relationship between individual-level task interdependence and team performance through team identity. In addition, team power distance does not moderate a positive relationship between individual-level task interdependence and team identity. This study illuminates the link between task interdependence and team identity, which can eventually occur through a bottom-up mechanism to obtain high team performance. This study is novel for several reasons. First, this study finds a bottom-up mechanism between task interdependence at the individual level to team performance through team identity. Second, this study offers new empirical findings that, in the context of a middle east culture known as the high level of power distance, team power distance (i.e., contextual variable) does not associate with the interdependence of an individual to perform tasks and team identity. In addition, this answers the research call to investigate the dynamic interactions between individuals in teams and team-based overall, which has not been discussed in previous studies.

It is believed that human progress of the times and technological advancements will be of assistance to technology firms in reaching optimal financial performance and prospering in their respective fields. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the size of a company, its leverage, its growing sales, and its liquidity and its financial success, which will be assessed by its return on assets, return on equity, and return on investment. It is difficult to generalize about the impact that the independent variables have on the monetary output of businesses operating in the technology sector in Indonesia. The size of a corporation has a negative impact on a company's ROE and ROI, while having no effect on ROA. There is a wide range of consequences that can be caused by leverage, some of which include a positive influence on ROA, a negative impact on ROE, and no impact on ROI. The increase in sales has no impact whatsoever on ROA, ROE, or ROI. There is no effect of liquidity on ROE, but it does have a negative influence on ROA and ROI.

  • Individual Innovative Behavior Through Human-Computer Interaction in eSport Mechanisms: An Evidence-Based Approach

    IEEE
As a form of sportification of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), eSport are revolutionizing the video game and sports industry in the digital transformation era. Applying Self-Determination Theory (SDT), this study aims to try to understand the relationship between the motivations that make people "eSport fans" with their behavior in supporting eSport so that it has an impact on the level of individual innovative behavior. Using Partial Least Squares -Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) as a data analysis approach with the Smart PLS 3 tool was carried out in this study. A survey was conducted among 100 people to investigate their behavior related to eSport at the level of individual innovative behavior. The findings indicate that eSport as intrinsic motivation has a larger role in idea exploration, idea generation, and idea championing than in idea implementation. This contributes to applying SDT in the context of eSport and innovative behavior.

PurposeThis paper aims to explore employee perceptions of companies engaged in services and banking of the role of change leadership on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) that will impact the performance and work engagement in conditions that are experiencing rapid changes.Design/methodology/approachThis study has used a quantitative research approach, and data analysis uses an approach structural equation modeling (SEM) supported by program computer software AMOS 22.0. A total of 357 respondents were involved in this study, but only 254 were qualified. In this study, the respondent is an employee of companies engaged in the services and banking sector in the East Java, Indonesia region.FindingsThe results reveal that AI has a significant positive effect on employee performance and work engagement. Change leadership positively moderates the influence of AI on employee performance and work engagement.Originality/valueThe development of this model has a novelty by including the moderating variable of the role of change leadership because, in conditions that are experiencing rapid changes, the role of leaders is essential. After all, leaders are decision-makers in the organization. The development of this concept focuses on studies of companies engaged in services and banking. Employee performance is an essential determinant in the organization because it will improve organizational performance. In addition, the application of AI in organizations will experience turmoil, so that the critical role of leaders is needed to achieve success with employee work engagement.

PurposeThis paper aims to explore Indonesian students' perceptions of student exchanges or studies abroad regarding cultural intelligence's influence on innovative behavior through interpersonal trust.Design/methodology/approachThis study has used a quantitative research approach. Data analysis uses an approach structural equation modeling-partial least squares (SEM-PLS) supported by program computer software Smart-PLS 3.0. An online questionnaire was distributed to 224 respondents, but only 214 were qualified. In this study, the respondent is Indonesian students who have been completed or are currently conducting student exchanges or studying abroad in the Asia and Australia region.FindingsThis pilot study reveals that high cultural intelligence students positively affect their individuals' innovative behavior. Moreover, interpersonal trust levels would mediate the influence of cultural intelligence on individual innovative behavior students. These results indicate that most Indonesian citizen students who took part in student exchanges or studying abroad had high cultural intelligence.Originality/valueThis study focused on influence cultural intelligence on individuals' innovative behavior, which is referred to as cross-cultural interaction. Also, this study focused on Indonesian citizen students who took part in student exchanges or studying abroad. This kind of research has not been thoroughly or even not been discussed in academic research. Therefore, it was necessary to put this issue into a science education and management science.
