I currently serve as an Associate Professor at the School of Economics, Finance and Banking, Universiti Utara Malaysia. In addition to teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, publishing many articles, speaking at seminars and conferences, and edited academic journals, I am the principle investigator for many research projects. My areas of specialisation cover Input-output and Social Accounting Matrix Economics, Sectoral analysis, Energy, Labor, public expenditure, and Household Income Distribution and Poverty. I have an Honours Degree in Economics from Universiti Malaya, Master of Science in Business Economics from University of Portsmouth, England and PhD from Universiti Putra Malaysia. I was a visiting scholar at University of St-Andrews, Scotland for one year from November 2015 to October 2016.
