Experimental Insights and ANN-Based Surface Roughness Prediction through analysis of Machined Surface Quality of Al2024/SiCp Composites Mohammed Saleh Al Ansari, A. Krishnakumari, M. Saravanan, Chappeli Sai Kiran, Seeniappan Kaliappan, Ramya Maranan E3s Web of Conferences, 2024 This present research deals with optimizing machining parameters and surface quality improvement of Al2024/SiCp composites which are important materials used in the aerospace industry. The optimal quartet of factors was investigated to achieve the best outcomes using Taguchi design approach and includes cutting speed of 105 m/min, feed rate of 0.15 mm/rev, and depth of cut of 0.35 mm with a minimal level of roughness of 0.9 μm. An ANN model has been trained and validated, and a high level of predictive accuracy with an overall accuracy of 100% after 195 epochs has been achieved. The results indicated that systematic experimentation and the application of advanced modeling approaches, including the beneficial configuration of parameters and validated ANN model, can help to achieve a superior surface quality meeting the requirements of the aerospace industry. As a result, manufacturers can benefit from the proposed solutions to optimize their production practices, enhance the performance of components, and contribute to the field of aerospace engineering.
An Effective Storage Management for University Library using Weighted K-Nearest Neighbor Algorithm K.B. Glory, D. Venkatesan, G. Naga Rama Devi, Chappeli Sai Kiran, Prerana Nilesh Khairnar, S. Priya 2022 IEEE North Karnataka Subsection Flagship International Conference Nkcon 2022, 2022 The most fascinating topic in economic geography is the storage location-allocation problem. The storage serves as a transition point to lower the cost of transmission. To produce an accurate and approximate response, two a model based hybrid of k-means –Particle Swarm Optimization(KPSO) proposed in this work. When compared to the existing model, the proposed model formulation is simpler and easier to understand. The testing findings show that the proposed model makes better use of the computer's Random Access Memory (RAM), allowing us to solve medium-sized tasks. This approach cannot outperform the MIP model in terms of run time. The multi-assignment facility location queries are included in the extension of the CP formulations. Initial PSO solutions are produced using the well-known data clustering technique K-means. The experimental results demonstrate that in terms of time, objective value, and reliability of performance metrics, the KPSO method is superior to the PSO.
Development of Hybrid Optimum Model to Determine the Brake Uncertainties S. Punitha, M Selvaraj, N. Anil Kumar, G. Nagarajan, Chappeli Sai Kiran, Nagarjuna Karyemsett Mysurucon 2022 2022 IEEE 2nd Mysore Sub Section International Conference, 2022 During rapid braking, the braking system must support the stresses exerted by the hydraulic rubber. The friction between the disc brakes and the disc effectively creates pressure. As a result of its rotation, the disks also suffer from rotational body pressures. Deformations resulting from these pressures could lead to material failure. As a result, it is essential to ensure that the groove pressures are kept to a minimum. The whole technique has been programmed into MATLAB to improve modules and operating systems. This involves using optimization methods such as the interior-point approach and also the Multi Parametric Genetic Algorithm (MPGA), and drawing Percentile charts for subsystems & operating system improvement & which require detailed verification.
Experimental investigation on the time-temperature history of Al-Si alloy while cooling in fresh and reclaimed silicate sand mould M. Venkata Ramana, C. Sai Kiran, Veeredhi Vasudeva Rao Materials Today Proceedings, 2020 Metal casting is one the most important and a routine processes in a foundry industry in which hot molten metal is cast in to a mould cavity prepared with silica sand. Over the years, due to continuous use of naturally available silica sand, there are strong indications of shortage of this resource. Moreover, removal, transport and disposal of used silica sand costs money to the industry and also causes environmental concern at the location of dump sites. To address these two issues of reducing the consumption of fresh silica sand and to mitigate the environmental concern due to the disposal of used silica sand, recycling and reusing the used sand appears to be one possible solution. In the present investigation an attempt is made to establish the utility of reclaimed silicate bonded sand in place of fresh silica sand. An experimental test set up is developed to record time temperature histories of an alloy during cooling process in mould. Al-Si alloy is chosen to conduct the experiments. The time temperature histories of Al-Si alloy during its cooling in moulds made of fresh silica sand and reclaimed silicate bonded sand moulds were recorded and compared. It is observed that heat absorption capacity of reclaimed sand mould is slightly lower and resulted in slightly coarse grains of alloy that got solidified in a mould prepared from reclaimed sand. However, it is established in present investigation that the reclaimed sand can be successfully used in place of fresh silica sand.
