  • Is Metaverse Intended for Purchasing? An Empirical Investigation
Nepoleon Prabakaran and Harold Andrew Patrick

    Izmir Akademi Dernegi
The metaverse, a digitally accessed immersive virtual environment, has the capacity to transform online retail by providing consumers with distinctive product experiences. This study examines how consumers behave when using metaverse platforms for purchasing. It specifically looks at how trust and perceived enjoyment play a part in influencing their desire to make a purchase. A quantitative methodology was utilized, with a total of 483 undergraduate students taking part in an experiment that entailed engaging with a metaverse retail platform called Decentraland, as well as completing a questionnaire that they administered to themselves. The results of the structural equation modelling analysis showed that the consumer's attitude towards the metaverse platform had a substantial positive effect on trust (β = 0.53) and perceived enjoyment (β = 0.39). These factors, in turn, had a favorable impact on purchase intention (β = 0.42 and β = 0.62, respectively). Furthermore, it was discovered that trust (with an indirect effect of 0.223) and perceived enjoyment (with an indirect effect of 0.241) play a major role in mediating the connection between customer attitude and purchase intention. The results enhance our comprehension of consumer behavior within the metaverse framework, highlighting the significance of cultivating trust and enjoyment to stimulate positive purchase intentions. The paper examines the consequences of the study for both theoretical and managerial perspectives. It emphasizes the importance for creators of metaverse platforms and brands to prioritize methods that build trust and boost the perceived satisfaction of users through immersive, interactive, and engaging virtual experiences. Proposed future study directions aim to overcome restrictions and broaden the scope of investigation as the metaverse continues to develop.

  • INFLUENCE OF CULTURAL INTELLIGENCE ON WORK ADJUSTMENT: A REGRESSION-BASED STUDY
    Nepoleon Prabakaran

Journal of Mechanics of Continua and Mathematical Sciences
Globalization has led to an increase in cultural diversity in the software business, meaning that workers need to be culturally intelligent (CQ) to communicate with coworkers from various backgrounds and successfully navigate various organizational cultures. However, there is a lack of research on the influence of CQ on work adjustment among Indian software professionals working in culturally different states. Additionally, the relationship between CQ, job characteristics, and work adjustment remains unclear. This study aims to investigate the impact of CQ on job satisfaction and performance and identify areas for improvement in creating equitable and multicultural work environments. The findings will contribute to enhancing employees' cultural intelligence and promoting better work adjustment in the context of increasing cultural diversity and globalization. The purpose of this study was to examine the extent to which cultural intelligence can enhance work adjustment by exploring its impact on employees' job satisfaction and job performance. The study's ultimate sample size of 485 respondents was obtained using standardized instruments in a quantitative and cross-sectional methodology. Google Forms software was utilized to distribute the questionnaires online. The findings of this study provide valuable insights into effective strategies for enhancing employees' cultural intelligence and promoting better work adjustment in the context of globalization and increasing cultural diversity in the workplace.

  • Global regionalization of consumer neuroscience behavioral qualities on insights from Google trends

    IGI Global
This chapter uses Google Trends search query volume data to perception-based regionalize consumer neuroscience behavioural indicators. To determine consumer neuroscience behaviour, the study examined Scopus research from 2010 to 2023. The most common keywords were then analysed. The study found five behavioural variables: emotion, attention, memory, perception, and decision-making. Between October 2022 and 2023, global Google Trends data for five consumer neuroscience phrases was collected. The data was analysed using time series and geographic units. The analysis found correlations between each indicator using time series units. K-means clustering was used to propose global regionalization using Google Trends. The ideal four clusters were found using the elbow approach. Through a thorough analysis of terms from derived clusters 1 to 4, the study made significant discoveries and implications that would improve consumer neuroscience's behavioural knowledge. Finally, perception-based global regionalization was introduced. In conclusion, this novel method of classifying global regions using Google Trends data and people's perceptions of behavioural topics like emotion, attention, perception, memory, and decision-making provides valuable insights for consumer neuroscience research. Analyzing the importance of specific groups and indicators within each cluster improves research in this field.

  • Exploring the factors of learning organization in school education: the role of leadership styles, personal commitment, and organizational culture

    Emerald
PurposeThis study aims to test the conceptual model of the factors of learning organization and explore the degree of mediation of organizational culture in the relationship between leadership styles, personal commitment, and learning organization in school education.Design/methodology/approachThe learning organization profile (LOP) and OCTAPACE profile served to measure learning organization and organizational culture, respectively. The researchers developed scales to measure principals’ leadership styles and teachers’ personal commitment. Data included 750 school teachers.FindingsThis study found a good fit in the proposed conceptual model. The organizational culture had a significant mediating effect on the path of leadership styles and learning organization and a significant mediating effect on the path of personal commitment and learning organization.Originality/valueTo promote a more comprehensive learning culture, school principals should consider two specific organizational mechanisms: the intangible cultural components (such as corporate values, beliefs, and norms) and the tangible structural components (such as organizational structure and workflow systems). These two domains play a crucial role in creating a conducive learning environment.

This research aims to add to the body of knowledge about positive organizational interventions by analyzing the influence of job crafting intervention (JCI) on employees' job crafting behaviors. The study utilized a quasi-experimental design. The treatment / experiment was a four hour long structured workshop on job crafting and its implementation. A pre-test and post-test methodology was used, and participants' initial job crafting levels were measured without prior knowledge and intimation. From this group the control and treatment group were divided and the later went through the job crafting intervention. Subsequently, four weeks after the intervention, both groups’ individual job crafting levels were measured using the same standardized job crafting scale. The intervention showed a significant positive effect on levels of job crafting. A mean difference of 4.2 to 4.8 (6-point scale) was observed respectively for the pre and post job crafting levels. A strong positive correlation was also found after the job crafting intervention in improving scores . All the results were tested and proved to be significant through the statistical tests. The research findings suggested that the job crafting intervention experiment successfully enhanced job crafting behavior of individuals. Participants' responses to an open-ended question and interaction at the end of the intervention reflected a positive impact, enabling them to relook at their jobs with more significant meaning. Further research should investigate additional factors influencing the intervention's effectiveness and long-term effects on professionals at workplace and performance.

AbstractThe study establishes a relationship between organisational justice, work engagement, job performance, perceived supervisory support and their sub‐dimensions. The major research objectives of the study were to check if perceived supervisory support does mediate between organisational justice, work engagement and job performance of faculty in higher educational institutions. A research model was framed and tested to determine the direct and indirect effect of justice of faculty members on work engagement and job performance in the presence of supervisory support in higher education sector. The present study is based on 912 faculty members of higher educational institutions. Five valid, reliable and standard questionnaires were adopted to collect primary data from the higher educational institutions' faculty members in south India. From the study, it is proved that perceived supervisory support partially mediates organisational justice, work engagement and job performance.
