  • Design, analysis, and application of solar cell to drive water pump

    This paper will describe the design, analysis, and application of the solar cell to drive the water pump. The water pump is one of the equipment that require large electrical energy. This research includes the design of a water pump combined with the solar cell as its main energy source; analysis of water pump energy requirement; energy produced by solar cell; and analysis of the electrical energy rotation in the system. The purpose of this study is to obtain applicable product design in people’s lives and is able to reduce the cost of pumping water for people’s needs. The conclusions obtained from the results of this study are 1) Community water needs every day is at least 60 liters/day/ capita and 240 liters/day/ family. 2) Product design made into a solar cell product for the water pump to meet household water need by utilizing a solar cell which is equal to 80 watts. 3) Analysis of product design of solar cell pump for water pump meets household water need, which requires an energy of 18 watts.hour/day and the ability of solar cells to produce electrical energy of 480 watts.hour/day 4) product applications produce data on electrical energy needed to drive the pump by 30.7 watts. the real ability of solar cells to produce electrical is 226.6 watts. day 5). The difference in energy requirements is 58.6%, while the percentage of difference in the result of electrical energy produced is 47%.This paper will describe the design, analysis, and application of the solar cell to drive the water pump.
