Integrity service application model with prevention of cryptanalytic attacks P. Senthil Kumari, A.R. Nadira Banu Kamal Materials Today Proceedings, 2020 Due to the inevitable use of cloud computing, several organizations both business and academic move to store their valuable data from manual record keeping to computers. Despite the many advantages given by cloud computing, security, privacy and integrity threats are available in the cloud due to the nature of hackers. In this paper, integrity is focused for verification. Encrypted data which is stored in secure outsourcing storage should be verified for integrity because of traitors in every field. Web browsers connect Web Application Programming Interfaces (API) to the cloud. Virtual Private Server (VPS) which is hosted in the cloud is deployed using web browsers. This paper proposes Integrity Service Application Model (which is installed in the VPS) with prevention of cryptanalytic attacks. Proposed work is implemented in unmanaged VPS and results are analyzed. Brute force attack, dictionary attack, cut and paste attack, Denial of Service attack, replay attack, known plain text attack and cipher text only attacks are prevented in this paper. Authentication techniques used for client verification are Random Key Code using One Time Password (OTP) and dynamic missing random number puzzle. Major advantage of the proposed paper is that the integrity is verified by private auditing using Proof of Retrievability method. Third Party Auditor (TPA) who is trusted partially is eliminated.
Key Derivation Policy for data security and data integrity in cloud computing P. Senthil Kumari, A. R. Nadira Banu Kamal Automatic Control and Computer Sciences, 2016 Cloud computing is currently emerging as a promising next-generation architecture in the Information Technology (IT) industry and education sector. The encoding process of state information from the data and protection are governed by the organizational access control policies. An encryption technique protects the data confidentiality from the unauthorized access leads to the development of fine-grained access control policies with user attributes. The Attribute-Based Encryption (ABE) verifies the intersection of attributes to the multiple sets. The handling of adding or revoking the users is difficult with respect to changes in policies. The inclusion of multiple encrypted copies for the same key raised the computational cost. This paper proposes an efficient Key Derivation Policy (KDP) for improvement of data security and integrity in the cloud and overcomes the problems in traditional methods. The local key generation process in proposed method includes the data attributes. The secret key is generated from the combination of local keys with the user attribute by a hash function. The original text is recovered from the ciphertext by the decryption process. The key sharing between data owner and user validates the data integrity referred MAC verification process. The proposed efficient KDP with MAC verification analyze the security issues and compared with the Cipher Text–Attribute-Based Encryption (CP-ABE) schemes on the performance parameters of encryption time, computational overhead and the average lifetime of key generation. The major advantage of proposed approach is the updating of public information and easy handling of adding/revoking of users in the cloud.
Optimal integrity policy for encrypted data in secure storage using cloud computing P. Senthil Kumari, A. R. Nadira Banu Kamal Indian Journal of Science and Technology, 2016 Objectives: We want to provide effective integrity verification for encrypted data which is transferred and provide high security. We want to retrieve the results with lesser memory consumption and lesser latency. Methods: The proposed approach combines Attribute Based Cryptography with bilinear mapping to enhance the data security. Simulation model validates the security issues related to the efficient key derivation and Message Authentication Code verification process. We compare our policy with existing techniques on the performance parameters such as encryption time, computational overhead and average lifetime to generate/derive keys. The performance analysis confirms the effectiveness of our policy. Findings: The chief drawbacks of the existing ABE schemes were expensive pairing operations and increase in the complexity and overhead of the admission policy. The time needed to decipher the cipher text was high, due to the great size of the cipher text. Hence, in order to overcome these limitations, this paper proposes an Optimal Integrity Policy for enhanced data security and integrity in the cloud. In secret key generation, we use AND, EXOR and hashing operarations to improve the security. MAC verification process is used to monitor the integrity of the data. An Optimal Integrity Policy confirmed the effectiveness of encryption time over existing CP-ABE methodologies based on the performance measures. The comparative analysis on the parameters such as computational overhead, average life time for generation/derivation of keys shows the better performance in OIP than the EPPDR, subset cover and pseudo random key generators. By enhancing the secret key generation, the data security is also enhanced. The experimental results achieves minimum overhead for both communication and computation. Applications/Improvements: The decryption time is slow for low end devices since it requires modular exponentiation. Hence, the future work shall be extended to speed up the decryption time.
