Chitosan-Loaded Lead-Free Sodium Bismuth Titanate Composite Flexible Triboelectric Nanogenerator for Energy Harvesting, Biomechanical Sensing, and Smart-Path Touch-Lighting for Safe Walking Applications Vamsi Katta, Gokana Mohana Rani, Reddicherla Umapathi, Yun Suk Huh, Paul Douglas Sanasi Small, 2026 Due to the limited availability of fossil fuels and skyrocketing carbon emissions, there is a growing need for the generation of energy from sustainable sources. A significant place in the energy harvesting system has been occupied by triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs), which are among the technologies under consideration. Increasing demand for sustainable, self‐sufficient energy solutions has driven the advancement of flexible and environmentally friendly TENG devices. Nevertheless, there remains a continual need to substantially increase the electrical output and boost the durability of the TENG technology to assure sustained high performance. In this context, we fabricated a flexible TENG utilizing sodium bismuth titanate‐chitosan (NBT/chitosan) composite film and PDMS film. Lead‐free ferroelectric ceramic NBT particles were synthesized through the traditional solid‐state synthesis approach. NBT was added into a chitosan matrix to improve the triboelectric output by enhancing dielectric properties and charge transfer efficiency. The constructed device exhibited a maximum output voltage of 162.5 V and a current of 4.1 µA, resulting in a power density of 1.34 W·m − 2 . The NBT/chitosan TENG was connected to an ArduinoUNO to activate a pathway light in real‐time, responding to human walking motion, thereby demonstrating its potential for intelligent outdoor lighting and motion‐sensing applications.
Synthesis, Characterization and Photocatalytic Studies of Novel SrFe12O19/TiO2/SiO2/GO nanocomposite Suneetha Majji, Hima Bindu Gandham, Swapna Duppati, Ramya Kumari Chapa, Jyothi Priya Konathala, Santhi Goldina Ravi, Paul Douglas Sanasi Research Journal of Chemistry and Environment, 2025 Sol-gel and Hummers created magnetic SrFe12O19/TiO2/SiO2/GO as a nanocomposite photocatalyst with a high crystalline TiO2 shell. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-DRS) and Vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) were utilized to analyze the composite particles produced. The findings demonstrate that the SrFe12O19/TiO2/SiO2/GO composite particles that were formed, were made up of spherical nanoparticles with a diameter of roughly 30 nm with silica serving as covering and fence between GO, titania shells and several SrFe12O19 small particles with a diameter of around 20 nm serving as cores. It exhibits a band gap energy. The value is 2.29 eV. Under UV irradiation, the composite photocatalytic particle's photocatalytic activity was also examined for the breakdown of Rhodamine B and Methylene Blue under UV light, 100% of the dyes degrade in 60 and 70 minutes when magnetic composite nanoparticles were present. Using magnetic separation, the created magnetic composite nanoparticles showed significant photocatalytic efficiency and could be utilized for remediating contaminated water.
Synthesis of Ternary Nanocomposites (Srfe12 O19/Tio2/Zno) By Sol-Gel Method for Application of Pollutant Abatement of Organic Dye Degradation Studies Chapa Ramya Kumari, M. Suneetha, K. Jyothi Priya, N. Sridevi Chandrakala, Babu T. Bulli, M. Padma, Douglas S. Sanasi Paul Research Journal of Chemistry and Environment, 2025 The study investigates the creation of a ternary metal oxide nanocomposite (SrFe12O19/TiO2/ZnO) designed to be an effective and superior photocatalyst. This is concluded by sequentially embedding semiconductors onto an n-type semiconductor using chemical or sol-gel methods. The formational and consistency properties of the resulting sample were analyzed using a range of methods involving X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, Field emission scanning electron microscopy with Energy-dispersive spectroscopy (FESEM-EDS), UV-visible spectroscopy, Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM). The photocatalytic activity of the ternary nanocomposite was evaluated by testing its effectiveness in degrading Methylene Blue and Rhodamine B dyes under visible light. Under sunlight, methylene blue and rhodamine B were completely degraded by the nanocomposite in 60 and 50 minutes respectively. The main reactive species responsible for the photodegradation under visible light were hydroxyl radicals (•OH) and superoxide anions (•O2-). Additionally, the small particle size, high catalytic efficiency and favorable physical and chemical properties of the SrFe12O19/ZnO/TiO2 nanocomposites contributed to their excellent reusability.
Design, Synthesis, and Cytotoxic Evaluation of Chalcone-Based Oxazole-Oxazolo[4,5-b]Pyridine Compounds Venkatram Reddy A, Rajashekar Reddy Nimmareddy, Sudheer Reddy Vootukoori, Paul Douglas Sanasi, Kommera Rajani Kumar, Krishnakanth Reddy Leleti Chemistryselect, 2025 A series of novel chalcone‐based oxazole‐oxazolo[4,5‐b]pyridine derivatives (11a–j) were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for cytotoxic activity against four human cancer cell lines: cervical (SiHa), lung (A549), breast (MCF‐7), and colon (Colo‐205). The synthesis involved condensing 2‐(2‐formylpyrimidin‐5‐yl)‐N‐(oxazol‐2‐yl)oxazolo[4,5‐b]pyridine‐6‐carboxamide (9) with aryl ketones (10a–j) using piperidine. Zn nanoparticles facilitated intermediate 5 formation, and SeO₂ was used for oxidation. Structures were confirmed via 1H NMR, and 13C NMR, verifying the chalcone moiety and E‐configuration. Cytotoxicity screening revealed six active compounds (11a, 11b, 11c, 11d, 11i, 11j), with 11b (3,4,5‐trimethoxyphenyl) showing the highest potency (IC50: 0.03–0.42 µM). SAR analysis indicated electron‐donating groups enhanced activity. Comparisons with known anticancer drugs validated the efficacy of 11b. Preliminary mechanistic studies, including apoptosis induction and cell cycle arrest assays, provided insights into its mode of action. Selectivity assays assessed toxicity against normal cell lines. These findings highlight chalcone‐based oxazole‐oxazolo[4,5‐b]pyridine derivatives as promising anticancer agents. Further computational modeling and docking analyses are needed to optimize lead candidates.
Synthesis of MgFe2O4-TiO2-SiO2 Ternary Nanocomposite: Synthesis, Characterization and Photocatalytic Degradation of Brilliant Green dye M. Suneetha, G. Hima Bindu, K. Jyothi Priya, Ch. Ramya Kumari, G. Supriya, D. Swapna, S. Paul Douglas Asian Journal of Chemistry, 2025 Wet chemical techniques were used to synthesize magnetic nanocomposites effectively, whereas the sol-gel process was used to individually prepare the magnetic nanocomposites. The UV-DRS, FTIR, SEM, EDS, TEM, XRD and VSM methods were used to characterize the MgFe2O4-TiO2-SiO2 nanocomposite. The photocatalytic activity of the nanocomposite as a photocatalyst towards the degradation of Brilliant green was studied under visible light irradiation. The photocatalytic activity showed that the nanocomposites were still effective after three cycles of catalysis and degraded brilliant green dye at a rate of 100%. The structural, morphological and optical properties of the composites have been investigated by X-ray diffraction and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM) techniques. The HR-TEM images confirm the formation of ternary nanocomposites having smaller particle sizes, whereas the surface morphology of nanocomposite was examined by SEM and EDS techniques. In UV-DRS analysis, the band gap energy value of the nanocomposite was found to be 2.3 eV. These results concluded that a synthesized photocatalyst is effective, reusable, easily separable, low-cost and eco-friendly. The antibacterial activity of the prepared nanocomposites was also evaluated against Gram-negative Escherichia coli and Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The novel nanocomposites have shown efficient photocatalytic activity and better antibacterial activity.
Development and Validation of Trace Level Quantification of Nine Azido Genotoxic Impurities in Losartan Potassium Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients by Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry Praveen Kumar Kondaveti, Paul Douglas Sanasi, G Saravanan, Koti Reddy Yeruva, Mahesh Palla Separation Science Plus, 2024 The objective of the study is to develop a sensitive and simple liquid chromatography‐tandem mass spectrometry for the determination of nine azido impurities in Losartan potassium active pharmaceutical ingredients. An advanced analytical method should be developed to determine these nine Azido impurities at 0.5 ppm level. Currently, no such method is reported to control these impurities in losartan potassium drug substance. The nine impurities separation was achieved using Hypersil ODS stationary phase with gradient elution and mobile phase of 0.1 M ammonium acetate as mobile phase A and methanol as mobile phase B. The developed method was found to be sensitive to the limit of detection and limit of quantitation levels as per the International Council for Harmonization M7 guidelines. The method was linear from 0.5 ppm to 15 ppm for all nine azido impurities. This is a single method for the simultaneous determination of all azido impurities in the presence of losartan potassium drug substance at 0.5 ppm and the same method used in the quality control laboratory for sample analysis.
