Prince Dacosta Anaman
I am currently a PhD candidate in Business Administration at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. I hold an MPhil degree in Accounting from the University of Ghana and a Bsc in Accounting Education from the University of Education, Winneba. My background is in Accounting and academic research, with interests in sustainability, ESG, financial reporting, and higher education. Over time, I’ve learned that knowledge only becomes meaningful when it is communicated with intention and grounded in real experience.

FUTURE PROJECTS

The Adoption and Impact of Emerging Technologies in Accounting Practices

The rapid advancement of emerging technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and cloud computing has significantly transformed the accounting profession globally. This study aims to examine the impact of these technologies on professional accountants in Ghana. A mixed-methods approach was employed to gather data. A structured questionnaire was administered to 400 accounting professionals from various firms across Ghana to collect quantitative data on the adoption, usage, benefits, and challenges of these technologies. In addition, in-depth interviews were conducted with 15 participants selected from the survey respondents to gain deeper insights into the practical impacts of these technologies. The findings reveal that while there is a growing interest in adopting these technologies, the actual adoption rates vary significantly among firms, with larger firms showing higher levels of integration than smaller ones.
