2023 IEEE 24th Latin American Test Symposium Lats 2023, 2023
We are presenting an automatic approach to produce approximate circuit with formal error guarantees on worst-case relative error (WCRE). The key concept is based on LUTs, SAT -based error evaluation, and property-checking techniques. These approximated circuits are employed to improve scalability and automate the designs for arithmetic circuits. The proposed 8 bit approximate multiplier shows an 83.33 % and 25.3 % decrease in power consumption and delay as w.r.t. exact multiplier. We demonstrated that the use of an approximate multiplier in FIR filter degrades SNR by 1.2 dB.
  • Optimization of Imprecise Multiplier Circuits by using Binary Decision Diagram
Pooja Choudhary, Lava Bhargava, G.U. Vinod, Ashok Kumar Suhag, Mashahiro Fujita, Virendra Singh
Proceedings 2023 IEEE International Symposium on Smart Electronic Systems Ises 2023, 2023
Imprecise multipliers are employed to enhance the efficiency and reduce the power consumption of arithmetic circuits while tolerating acceptable levels of inaccuracy in the outcomes. The multiplier circuit has a broader range of applications within embedded systems, particularly in the fields of digital signal processing, IoT and multimedia, etc. We proposed a systematic formal approach utilizing the Look-Up Table (LUT) employing the Burch method to evaluate the imprecise multiplier based on the Binary Decision Diagram (BDD) considering Worst Case Error constraint. Implemented 13 bit multiplier using normal and proposed imprecise multiplier shows 98% reduction in number of nodes. The proposed 25 bit imprecise multiplier based on Burch HL shows an 89% decrement in a number of nodes w.r.t. Burch LH method. BDD generation for imprecise multiplier is 75% faster than normal.

Digital Cities Roadmap Iot Based Architecture and Sustainable Buildings, 2021
As urbanization is proliferating over the last few years there is an indispensable need for intelligent technology, digital surrounding, smart governance, and a sustainable environment to improve the quality of human life. As an outcome of the knowledge-based economy and accelerated development of technology Smart city is a combination of internet, network, sensors, etc. For implementing all the applications an emerging technology Internet of Things (IoT) acts as a backbone or one can say IoT is reaching urban living. The features and devices of smart cities are becoming smarter. The parameters like urban sustainability, infrastructure efficiency, and economic growth can be improved by the intervention of IoT. The aim of this chapter is to provide a comprehensive view of smart cities, its concepts, components and emergence. The table mentioned represents the established relationships between various sectors of industries and its services. Further in chapter the impact of smart cities on areas of science, technology, and society is illustrated. The focus is given to key applications, technologies and challenges related to IoT which are used in smart cities. The perceived concept of the smart city initiative will always remain critical for development and sustainability. The Future city is Smart and Economical.
  • A survey - Energy harvesting sources and techniques for internet of things devices
Pooja Choudhary, Lava Bhargava, Virendra Singh, Manju Choudhary, Ashok kumar Suhag
    Materials Today Proceedings, 2020
Internet of Things (IoT) is a broad platform where various technologies help everyday devices to become smarter, more informative, communicative and intelligent. IoT devices need batteries to be powered and the lifetime of batteries is limited. Due to which there is a huge demand for energy sources that are competent enough to power IoT devices. Energy harvesting, accumulating and converting surrounding energy into usable energy, has emerged as a strong alternative to power devices. This paper discusses the need for harvesting the energy that arose in IoT devices. The methodology of different architectures and technology used in energy harvesting systems can be improved by understanding the survey on energy harvesting sources and techniques. The paper compiled various energy harvesting sources and techniques in tabular form which will act as a major input for researchers prior art pursuing in this field.
  • CORDIC based implementation of Fast Fourier Transform
    Pooja Choudhary, Abhijit Karmakar
2011 2nd International Conference on Computer and Communication Technology Iccct 2011, 2011
CORDIC is an iterative arithmetic computing algorithm capable of evaluating various elementary functions using a unified shift-and-add operations. Fast Fourier Transform processor based on CORDIC is implemented. The key ideas are replacing the sine and cosine twiddle factors in conventional FFT architecture by iterative CORDIC rotations which allow the reduction in read-only memory (ROM). The use of CORDIC in FFT results in the elimination of multipliers, saves area, power and cost CORDIC finds many applications as it providing a simpler way of computing complex multiplications. It is proved that CORDIC is most suitable alternative.
