Super capacitor, electrochemical measurement and sun light driven photocatalytic applications of CuFe2O4 NPs synthesized from bio-resource extract Giridhar Meenakshi, B.C. Manjunath, S.C. Prashantha, T. Prashanth, B.S. Surendra Sensors International, 2023 The CuFe 2 O 4 nanoparticle has been successfully synthesized from bio-mediated ( Aloe-Vera ) combustion process. The structural characterization of synthesized nanoparticle was achieved by spectral-characterizations viz; XRD, SEM, FT-IR and optical examinations. The XRD studies displays a spinel cubic phase development of nanoparticle and its average-particle size (19.3 nm). Low band gap energy of synthesized nanoparticle has been recorded to be 2.84 eV using UV–Visible absorption spectroscopy, which impacts to higher photodegradation efficiency. The potential photocatalytic activity of synthesized nanoparticle was examined using Malachite Green (MG) organic dye as a model, which is performed under specific quantities of stock solution (60 ppm) and obtained nanoparticle (50 mg). The photodegradation efficiency of synthesized material was evaluated for MG dye degradation achieved with 87.5% at 140 min under Sun-light. The excellent oxidation-reduction peak potentials were observed for synthesized spinel ferrite nanoparticle modified with carbon paste investigated by electrochemical analysis using 0.1 M KCl in the different scan rates 0.01–0.05 V/s. The charge-discharge studies of CuFe 2 O 4 -graphite electrode at current density (0.4 A/g) was discussed which is well correspondence to pseudo-capacitive behaviour. The synthesized NPs through bio-resources extract has become a potential new insight into multiple practical applications.
Synthesis of coumarin analogs appended with quinoline and thiazole moiety and their apoptogenic role against murine ascitic carcinoma T. Prashanth, B.R. Vijay Avin, Prabhu Thirusangu, V. Lakshmi Ranganatha, B.T. Prabhakar, J.N. Narendra Sharath Chandra, Shaukath Ara Khanum Biomedicine and Pharmacotherapy, 2019 C NMR and mass spectral analysis. The result indicates that, 7-methoxy-2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxylic acid [4-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-thiazol-2-yl]-amide (13f) showed potent activity against EAC and DLA cells in MTT (15.3 μM), tryphan blue (15.6 μM) and LDH (14.2 μM) leak assay with 5-fluorouracil as a standard. Further, the anti-neoplastic effect of the compound 13f was verified against Ehrlich ascites tumour by BrdU incorporation, TUNEL, FACS and DNA fragmentation assays. Experimental data showed that compound 13f induces the apoptotic cell death by activating apoptotic factors such as caspase-8 &-3, CAD, Cleaved PARP, γ-H2AX and by degrading genomic DNA of cancer cells and thereby decreasing the ascitic tumour development in mice. Besides, compound 13f was also subjected for docking studies to approve the in vitro and in vivo studies. The data revealed that the compound 13f has very good interaction with caspase 3 protein by binding with amino acid Arg 207 through hydrogen bond.

Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity of salicylic acid conjugated dihydropyrazoline analogues Naveen Puttaswamy, Rekha N D, Lakshmi Ranganatha, Prashanth T, Shaukath Ara Khanum Journal of Applied Pharmaceutical Science, 2018 Syntheses of substituted salicylic acid appended pyrazoline analogues (7a-j) via 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition were reported earlier. In the present investigation we have performed the anti-inflammatory activity by phospholipase A2 (PLA2) inhibition and in vitro antioxidant activity by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, nitric oxide, hydroxyl radical scavenging assay and ferrous ion chelating assay wherein compounds 7d, 7h, 7i and 7j have shown maximum antiinflammatory activity. Further, compounds 7d, 7f and 7h were proved to be excellent free radical scavengers.
Hirshfeld Surface Analysis and Crystal Structure of [2-Bromo-4-(4-Fluoro-Benzoyl)-Phenoxy]-Acetic Acid Ethyl Ester N. Latha Rani, T. Prashanth, M. A. Sridhar, V. Lakshmi Ranganatha, A. K. Shaukath Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 2016 The title compound C17H14BrFO4 was synthesized using 3-Bromo-4-hydroxy-phenyl-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-methanone, ethyl chloroacetate, and anhydrous potassium carbonate. Its structure was established using elemental analysis, NMR, and single crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. The compound crystallizes in orthorhombic crystal system and space group Pbca. The cell parameters are a = 10.1444(13) Å, b = 8.2781(10) Å, c = 38.423(5) Å, Z = 8, V = 3226.6(7) Å3. The dihedral angle between two least squares planes of two phenyl rings bridged by keto carbonyl group is −28.2(5)°. The molecule exhibits intermolecular interactions of the type C‒H…F and C‒H…O. The intercontacts in the crystal structure are studied using Hirshfeld surface analysis.
Synthesis, characterization, and antibacterial activity of 6-Chloro-8-methyl-2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester N. Latha Rani, T. Prashanth, M. A. Sridhar, H. D. Gurupadaswamy, K. Shaukath Ara, N. K. Lokanath Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 2016 The title compound was synthesized by reacting 2-hydroxy-4-methoxy-benzaldehyde with diethyl malonate in the presence of piperidine catalyst and ethanol as solvent. The chemical structure of the title compound was elucidated by elemental analysis, 1H-NMR, and IR. The crystal structure was determined by X-ray diffraction data. It crystallizes in monoclinic crystal system, P21/c space group with unit cell parameters, a = 12.840(2) Å, b = 24.790(4) Å, c = 7.8544(13) Å, β = 98.035(5)°, V = 2475.5(7) Å3, and Z = 8. The molecular and crystal structure of the title compound is stabilized by inter- and intramolecular interactions of the type C—H···O. The newly synthesized compound was screened for its antibacterial activity against two gram-positive and two gram-negative bacteria.
