Customer relationship marketing is important since it provides a long standing relationship between the customer and the organization. Churn obstructs the growth of profitable customers and it is the biggest challenge to sustain a telecommunication network. We propose two models which predicts customer churn with a high degree of accuracy. Our first model is a logistic regression model which is a non-linear classifier with sigmoid as its activation function. The accuracy of the model is heightened by regularizing it with the regularizing parameter set to 0.01 and this gives an accuracy of 87.52% on our test dataset. Our second model is a full fledged Multilayer Perceptron(MLP) Neural Network with a normalized input feature vector which is stacked with three hidden layers and employs binary cross entropy as the loss function with a learning rate of 0.01. This model is split into a test-train set and achieves an accuracy of 94.19%. Using this predictive model the organization can conduct marketing research and study the needs of the particular customer in detail. Using that data they can produce goods according to the customer needs before the customer demands and present it to them. This helps to create brand loyalty which in turn leads to a sustainable network.

  • Outcome based approach for teaching analog electronic circuits for undergraduate students

    IEEE
This paper introduces the current teaching and learning strategies in Analog Electronic Circuits in Telecommunication department of BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore, an autonomous institute, under VTU, Belgaum. It presents the different teaching practices adopted at our department and analyses the advantages experienced in the delivery of the course after introducing new Course Outcomes (COs). The Strategies for student-centered teaching are reviewed and efforts are made to improve the quality of teaching and learning. The attainment of Program Outcomes (POs) is enhanced in the present approach.

The primary aim of the project is to build a robot that is capable of reaching every point of a given cuboidal structure, without any human effort. In real world, structures with perfect planes are rarely encountered. Hence, to include the ability of traversing uneven surfaces, a legged robot is designed. As one of its many applications, we illustrate its use in washing a car, with minimal usage of water. This idea can be extended to design robots capable of reaching remote points in skyscrapers, for painting, cleaning and allied purposes, which eliminates the need to put human life at risk. Also, the application demonstrated in the project is expected to put an end to the problem of excessive usage of water that is associated with any technique of washing a car, available today.
