  • Carbon trading and financial sustainability: Intersections, implications, and strategies
Nidhi Solanki, Priyanka Mathur, Harsh Purohit
Exploring Pillars of Sustainability for Modern Age Improvements, 2024
In recent years the world has been focusing more on combating climate change and carbon trading has become a vital tool with an aim to lower the carbon emissions. The studies have shown that the financial market is essential for the success of carbon trading as they provide carbon related assets with liquidity, price discovery, and risk management. This chapter examines how carbon trading mechanisms affect the financial health of businesses and economies. It explores how emissions trading systems affect financial performance and its implications on company's profitability, liquidity and competitiveness. This study reflects how environmental regulations influence business operations, considering opportunities and challenges for achieving financial sustainability. By integrating theoretical frameworks with implication and strategies from different studies and reports, this chapter aims to inform policy makers, businesses, and investors on the role of carbon trading in promoting sustainable finance and building long-term economic resilience in the face of climate change challenges.
  • Understanding adoption of digital banking services in rural India using integrated method
Abhilasha Gupta, Govind Nath Srivastava, Harsh Purohit
Business Transformation in the Era of Digital Disruption, 2024
This study aims to analyze the attitude and behaviour of rural customers of India towards digital banking services. In the present study, quantitative and structural indicator of bibliometric analysis was used to analyze the intellectual structure of the domain and to examine the relationship between research constituents. PRISMA framework-2009 was used to map existing literature from 2000 to 2020 for the systematic and structured review of existing literature. The result of the study brought six important thematic clusters. Sentiment analysis found that the majority of the rural customers hold neutral and mixed opinions about digital banking services so efforts must be made to reduce the perceived risk among rural customers. The present study is believed to be the first study which used integrated methods such as systematic literature review, bibliometric analysis, and qualitative analysis for a holistic understanding of the domain. This study is distinct as the authors did not find significant studies that shed the light on adoption of digital banking by rural customers.

  • Social Networking Intent of the Zoomers: Evidence from Saudi Arabia
Mohammed Ashar Khan, Sapna Popli, Harsh Purohit, Asif Ali Syed
    Global Business Review, 2024
With a young population and high internet penetration levels, Saudi Arabian users are more active than ever on social media. Close to 44% of Saudi Arabia’s users of online social networking sites are between the age of 18 and 24 years, also known as ‘zoomers’ or ‘Gen Z’. From this age group, students at the college level are one of the most prolific users of online social networks ( Alaslani & Alandejani, 2020 ). Since this study was conducted on Saudi undergraduate students, we will refer to them as zoomers in this article as they are from the same age group. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology was adapted for the study to understand factors that influence the perception, acceptance and usage of online social networks by zoomers in Saudi Arabia. Data collected from 623 undergraduate students across the country reflect that while variables like task-oriented usage, trust and pleasure influenced the attitude of users, privacy was not a concern for students in choosing to use online social networks. Perceived behavioural control directly impacts the intention to use such networks; however, subjective norms or influence of peers and family did not impact the behavioural intention of the students to choose online social networking sites. A better understanding of the factors influencing the attitude of these zoomers (Gen Z) provides a massive opportunity for brands as well as social networking platforms to be able to not only reach this population effectively but also plan efficient approaches for revenue generation. This can also help academicians and government entities understand the behaviour of college-going students by exploring the constructs related to their behavioural intention to choose and use online social networks.
  • A Theoretical Assessment of Problems Faced by Women Entrepreneurs (in micro industry): A Study of Indian Scenario
Fatima Bilgrami, Harsh Purohit, Vimlesh Tanwar
International Journal for Global Academic and Scientific Research, 2022
Even though women make up over half of the population, female involvement in and promotion of activities connected to entrepreneurship is very limited in India. women play a vital role in the growth of society, their dreams to start their own businesses have not been effectively tapped owing to the carelessness of many parts of society, government institutions, and non-government organisations. Prior to, during, and after the process of starting their business, female entrepreneurs confront problems connected to gender prejudice as well as financial obstacles. The current study that is being conducted will try to evaluate and identify the various available opportunities and challenges that are being faced by women entrepreneurs while managing their enterprise. This evaluation and identification will take place as part of the current study that is being conducted. The primary objective of this research is to determine the status of female business owners in India, more especially in the garment industry, with a concentration on the state of Telangana. It is essential to do an analysis of the policies that are now being made accessible to female business owners by both the national government and the individual Indian states. The researcher intends to investigate whether the current policies are sufficient, and whether or not they even help to the growth and extension of the current position of women entrepreneurs in India. The anticipated result of the investigation that is now being carried out is going to be contributing to the growth of the modern entrepreneurial ecosystem in India.
