Abstract The environmentally friendly, easily available and affordable alternative energy sources are one of the important requirements for the growth of the modern world. This research work explains how the magnetic repulsion characteristics of permanent magnets could be used as the energy source to meet energy demands. The wok is carried out on the permanent magnet propelled vertical axis wind turbine and its performance is compared with the traditional vertical axis wind turbine. The results show that the permanent magnet propelled wind turbine will function much better than the traditional one, even at slower wind speeds. The magnetic repulsive properties are used as a supplementary energy source in a permanent magnet propelled vertical axis wind turbine, which add kinetic energy to the turbine’s rotational momentum, while transforming wind power to mechanical movement. - Comparative study on manufacturing of EDM electrodes by laser sintering process

Abstract The abstract aims to investigate the comparative performance of Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) and Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) with unconventional machining processes. Unconventional machining processes have gained significant attention due to their versatility and capability to fabricate intricate components with high precision. This study focuses on assessing the efficacy of EDM and SLS techniques in terms of data removal rate and relative wear volume. Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is a thermal erosion process that utilizes electrical discharges to remove material from a workpiece. In contrast, Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) is an additive manufacturing technique that employs a laser to selectively fuse powdered material, layer by layer, to build up a three-dimensional object. Both methods offer unique advantages in terms of precision, speed, and material compatibility. The performance evaluation of these techniques involves analyzing key parameters such as data removal rate, which measures the volume of material removed per unit time, and relative wear volume, which quantifies the wear on the tool or workpiece during the machining process. By comparing these metrics, insights into the efficiency and effectiveness of EDM and SLS can be gained, aiding manufacturers and researchers in selecting the most suitable method for specific applications. Through experimental investigations and data analysis, this study aims to provide valuable insights into the capabilities and limitations of EDM and SLS in unconventional machining processes. The findings will contribute to advancing the understanding of these techniques and optimizing their utilization in various industrial sectors, including aerospace, automotive, and biomedical engineering. The experimental analysis examines the impact of the Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) process parameter on sintering depth. One of the sectors in the world that uses the most energy is mining. In addition, it offers a vital supply of raw materials for the building, transportation, industrial, and energy industries. With an increasing global population comes an expected rise in the demand for raw commodities. The mining sector will probably need more energy as a result of this rise in mineral demand for the extraction process, shifting and purifying. Because of their distant location, mining operations rely on fossil fuels including coal and diesel. Hence 4-7 % of greenhouse gas emissions overall are linked to the mining industries. Operating permits for mines are necessary, and these permits are subject to Environmental, Social and Governance policies. In this context, the benefits of renewable energy go beyond simply financial savings. They are also a component of plans to maintain a mine's license. These issues may be effectively solved by wind power. It is an entirely risk-free, economically viable, and environmentally responsible source of clean and green energy. In the studies we performed, we focused on how objects with comparable poles and continuous magnetic fields repel one another. In this scenario, magnetic propulsion's innate characteristics serve as the energy-sources. Our turbine is going to work much better in the specified circumstances, even in conditions with a slower wind speed, thanks to the additional features including the repulsion of similar polarity magnets. When used as a supplementary energy source in a VAWT, i.e. magnetic repulsive properties will add some kinetic energy to the turbine's rotational momentum, as it transforms wind power to desired form of mechanical movement. - The Effect of Metal Filler on the Mechanical Performance of Epoxy Resin Composites

In this study, an attempt was made to develop and characterize Snake Grass Fiber (SGF)/Silicon Carbide (SiC)/epoxy and Snake Grass Fiber/Sisal Fiber (SF)/Silicon Carbide/epoxy hybrid composites using a compression moulding technique. Mechanical characteristics of the produced hybrid composites such as tensile, flexural, and hardness tests were analyzed. Also experiments have been carried out to predict the thermal stability of the fabricated composite samples. The interface between fiber and matrix was examined by using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Among SGF/SiC/epoxy and SGF/SF/SiC/epoxy composites, it has been observed that hybrid composite SGF/SF/SiC/epoxy exhibits the higher hardness of 82 Shore-D, tensile strength of 51 MPa and flexural strength of 73 MPa. In contrast to the mechanical properties, the percentage of water absorption was lower in the SGF/SiC/epoxy hybrid composite. It is proven from the results that the SGF/SF/SiC/epoxy hybrid composites will enhance the strength of the composites. The current numerical study is aimed to examine the forced convection heat transfer of fly ash-Copper (80:20% by volume) water-based hybrid nanofluids flowing in a horizontal circular copper tube under a constant heat flux of 7962W/m2 using STAR CCM+ software. The volume concentrations of 0.5% and 1% are considered for the analysis within the Reynolds number range of 6900-26500. Abstract The heat transfer fluid's thermal properties are a significant topic of current research. In this study, coal fly ash nanoparticles of 14 nm average diameter were dispersed in water to prepare stable nanofluid in the concentration range of 0.1–0.5% volume concentration. The nanofluid was stabilized and uniformly dispersed using an ultrasonic homogenizer with the addition of Triton–X 100 surfactant. The thermophysical properties, viz., thermal conductivity, viscosity, density, and specific heat of the nanofluid were measured in the temperature range of 30–60 °C. The maximum thermal conductivity and viscosity augmentation of 14 and 6.38% are observed for 60 and 30 °C, respectively, at 0.5% volume concentration compared to water at the same temperatures. The experiment results revealed that thermal conductivity, viscosity, and density increased while specific heat decreased with an increase in nanofluid concentration. Also, the thermal conductivity and specific heat increase, while viscosity and density decrease with an increase in temperature. The thermal conductivity of fly ash nanofluid is observed to be superior by 3.9% compared to SiO2 nanofluid which can be due to its chemical constituents.
