Security Analysis of MiniApps: Vulnerabilities, Exploits, and a Tailored Mitigation Framework Keyhan Mohammadi, Arman Moradi, Reza Ebrahimi Atani 2025 15th International Conference on Computer and Knowledge Engineering Iccke 2025, 2025 Telegram MiniApps and WeChat Mini Programs represent two leading implementations of the superApp sub application paradigm, each combining centralized backend services with lightweight, embedded client interfaces. While both platforms enable rich user experiences, they also introduce significant security risks through architectural and implementation flaws. In this paper, we present a comparative analysis of vulnerabilities in Telegram MiniApps and WeChat Mini Programs, drawing from documented exploits and empirical testing. For WeChat, prior studies reveal widespread issues including sensitive data leakage, weak permission enforcement, and cross MiniApp request forgery, affecting millions of deployed apps. For Telegram, we identify unproxied frontend–backend communication leaking IPs and server endpoints, insecure HTTP defaults in the Bot API enabling man in the middle attacks, and inadequate auditing of TON blockchain smart contracts. We further analyze adversarial MiniApps exploiting WebView sandbox weaknesses for malware delivery, cryptomining, and cryptocurrency phishing. Building on these findings, we propose a comprehensive mitigation framework tailored to Telegram but informed by lessons from WeChat’s vulnerabilities. Our approach includes mandatory HTTPS, Telegram-hosted proxying, sandbox isolation, automated malicious activity detection, and AI-assisted code auditing. The results highlight the urgent need for platform level reforms across superApp ecosystems to align rapid feature growth with strong user privacy and security guarantees.
FedRLEA: Federated Aggregation of Parallel SLMs with RL-Based Prompt Optimization for Smart Enterprise Architecture Keyhan Mohammadi, Arman Moradi, Reza Ebrahimi Atani 2025 9th Iranian Conference on Advances in Enterprise Architecture Icaea 2025, 2025 The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in enterprise architectures has created new opportunities for intelligent automation and decision support while simultaneously raising concerns regarding data privacy, scalability, and adaptability. Traditional centralized training of large language models (LLMs) is impractical for many organizations due to high computational demands and privacy risks associated with data aggregation. This paper introduces a federated aggregation framework for parallel Small Language Models (SLMs) that applies Hashgraph-based decentralized learning to eliminate reliance on central servers. To further enhance adaptability and task-specific accuracy, the framework integrates a reinforcement learning (RL)-based prompt optimization mechanism, enabling continuous refinement of SLM prompts through interaction driven feedback. The proposed system supports cross organizational collaboration under privacy-preserving constraints and is designed for deployment within smart enterprise architectures. Our formal model analysis demonstrates efficient distributed model training, scalability across heterogeneous nodes, and reduced communication overhead compared to traditional federated learning approaches. The integration of RL-based prompt tuning yields measurable improvements in model relevance and responsiveness to evolving enterprise data. The results highlight the potential of federated SLM aggregation to provide a secure, adaptive, and resource-efficient foundation for next-generation AI-based enterprise architectures.
A Novel Decentralized Privacy Preserving Federated Learning Model for Healthcare Application Saba Ameri, Reza Ebrahimi Atani 15th International Conference on Information and Knowledge Technology Ikt 2024, 2024 With the increasing usage of deep learning algorithms in various aspects of science, specifically in healthcare and disease diagnosis, challenges in data availability are encountered. In the healthcare industry, due to the sensitivity surrounding patient privacy, data collection is limited. To train a high-quality deep learning model capable of aiding in disease diagnosis, a large amount of data is required, which is not feasible under these conditions. One solution to utilize healthcare data for training a high-quality deep learning model is to use distributed deep learning models, where data is kept locally but still participates in the training process. Some implementations of distributed deep learning, such as federated learning exist, but these implementations have vulnerabilities in preserving data privacy. In this research, the goal is to develop a distributed deep learning model that defends user privacy against attacks from both inside and outside the network while maintaining the quality of the deep learning model.
Sigma: A Secure Federated Network Gaming Platform Keyhan Mohammadi, Reza Ebrahimi Atani 15th International Conference on Information and Knowledge Technology Ikt 2024, 2024 In the current era, there is a significant need for a unified social platform that functions as a federated network, combined with a social structure that helps users collaborate, work, or play games online together in spaces within a decentralized network. This paper proposes a state-of-the-art decentralized federated network named Sigma, featuring a unified web application and games that facilitate communication, collaboration, and gaming. It also enables the delivery of game packets anywhere in the network in an optimized, fast, and secure manner.
Lifetime Enhancement in Wireless Body Area Networks Using Spare Nodes Mehdi Goldoust, Reza Ebrahimi Atani 11th International Symposium on Telecommunication Communication in the Age of Artificial Intelligence Ist 2024, 2024 Nowadays, it is essential to use Wireless Body Area Network as an efficient technology in healthcare, as it can lead to improved services in mortality prevention and disease control. With the globalization of infectious diseases such as COVID-19, deploying healthcare infrastructures such as hospital beds, emergency centers, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) devices, physicians and other medical supplies has faced many constraints, making it difficult for patients to use these infrastructures and thus increasing mortality rate, as well as disease transmission rate and the globalization of disease transmission. Power and energy constraints of sensors in wireless body sensor networks is one of the main challenges that disrupts the performance and tasks of the network at different times. This paper introduces a method that can increase the lifetime of the network by employing the capacity and power of spare nodes. In this method, spare nodes will be assigned to the main nodes that collaborate with the main nodes in collecting signals and sending them to the sink node. The results of experiments and simulations show that employing spare nodes in order to improve network performance and increase network lifetime can have a significant impact on improving healthcare quality, as well as increasing healthcare period. For instance, the results show that when employing spare nodes for $45 \\%$ of the main nodes in the network, the death time of the first node in the network improves by $41 \\%$, the death time of the last node in the network improves by $53 \\%$, and the number of packets received by the sink node will improve by $52 \\%$.
Balancing Safety and Security in Autonomous Driving Systems: A Machine Learning Approach with Safety-First Prioritization Afshin Hasani, Mehran Alidoost Nia, Reza Ebrahimi Atani Proceeding 2024 Annual Computer Security Applications Conference Workshops Acsacw 2024, 2024 In the era of autonomous vehicles (AVs), ensuring the safety and security of the system is an ongoing challenge, particularly when faced with increasingly cyber-attacks such as GPS spoofing and man-in-the-middle. This paper presents a novel reinforcement learning (RL)-based framework that prioritizes safety over security concerns in AVs, ensuring that life-critical tasks such as collision avoidance and speed control are always maintained, even in the presence of security threats. Our system leverages the MAPE-K loop to dynamically adapt to changing conditions, using RL in the Analyzing phase to make real-time decisions that maximize cumulative safety rewards while addressing security risks that directly affect operational integrity. We demonstrate how our RL-based self-adaptive system mitigates security threats while maintaining safe driving behaviors through various simulations and experiments. The proposed system shows significant improvements in collision avoidance and threat detection, ultimately ensuring that the AV’s safety is preserved in even the most challenging scenarios.
A Novel Electronic Voting system using a Blind Signature scheme and Blockchain Elahe Mehraban, T. Aaron Gulliver, Reza Ebrahimi Atani, Evren Hincal 11th International Symposium on Telecommunication Communication in the Age of Artificial Intelligence Ist 2024, 2024 Many applications including government services are now available online. This allows people to access services without being physically present, but online authentication is required. An important online service is electronic voting which can significantly increase the participation rate due to time limits and the removal of location restrictions. Electronic voting protocols employ encryption algorithms to ensure the integrity of the voting process. Despite the many advantages of electronic voting, it is controlled by the system manager and a dishonest manager can compromise the voting integrity. Blockchain technology can be used to solve this problem by providing reliability and data integrity. In this paper, an electronic voting scheme is proposed which employs quantum collective blind signatures and blockchain to guarantee privacy and the integrity of the voting process.
A New Routing Protocol in Internet of Vehicles Inspired of Spread Model of the Covid-19 Virus Taha Yasin Rezapour, Esmaeil Zeinali, Reza Ebrahimi Atani, Mohammad Mehdi Gilanian Sadeghi 15th International Conference on Information and Knowledge Technology Ikt 2024, 2024 In recent years, the Internet of Vehicles(IoV) has emerged as a critical subset of the Internet of Things(IoT), playing a key role in enhancing the safety and efficiency of intelligent transportation systems. Unlike other IoT applications that typically operate in static and controlled environments, IoV operates in complex, dynamic, and highly variable environments, necessitating unique solutions for routing management. This paper proposes a novel routing approach for IoV networks that, for the first time, leverages the coronavirus propagation model to improve Quality of Service (QoS) parameters, particularly end-to-end delay. Inspired by the rapid propagation characteristics of the coronavirus, this method establishes a fast information dissemination mechanism within the network, leading to an exponential decrease in data transfer delay. Through this model, routing information is rapidly disseminated among vehicles with minimal hops, resulting in significant improvements in IoV.
