The characteristics of the mathematical mindset of junior high school students Abdul Aziz Saefudin, Ariyadi Wijaya, Siti Irene Astuti Dwiningrum, Djohan Yoga Eurasia Journal of Mathematics Science and Technology Education, 2023 The mathematical mindset of high school students is one of the important elements when learning mathematics. The mathematical mindset is an implicit theory of the flexibility and stability of human characteristics related to mathematical ability, intelligence, and talent. Through student responses obtained by filling out questionnaires, this study aims to investigate the characteristics of students’ mathematical mindsets qualitatively. This study found that most of the junior high school students had the characteristics of a growth math mindset with a little bit of a fixed math mindset. Most students believe that mathematical abilities and intelligence can be changed, even though they find it difficult to face challenges and difficulties when learning mathematics.
Developing the teaching materials of algebra matrix based on M-APOS model to develop students' autonomous learning on math Kintoko, Wardono, Zaenuri, Abdul Aziz Saefudin Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2021 This study aims to develop Matrix Algebra course teaching materials based on the M-APOS learning model to improve students’ mathematical self-regulated learning with valid, practical, and effective criteria. This is a research and development (research and development) using the ADDIE method (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Validity test of teaching material was by expert judgment. The practicality test of teaching material was conducted by evaluating 5 small-scale test subjects and 24 large-scale trials. The effectiveness test of teaching materials is carried out by implementing the Matrix Algebra course by analyzing self regulated learning. The stages in this study include the Analysis, Design, Development and Evaluation stages. 1) The analysis phase includes analyzing the needs, characteristics of students, and curriculum. 2) The design phase includes activities to determine the product design (teaching material) to be developed, an outline of the presentation of the material, collecting references and compiling assessment instruments. 3) Development phase, namely the activity of making and testing teaching materials. 4) The evaluation phase shows that the development of teaching materials in the form of Matrix Algebra modules based on the M-APOS learning model can improve students’ mathematical self regulated learning in a valid, practical, and effective criteria.
Improving Students' Mathematical Self-Regulated Learning with Modified Moore Method Abdul Aziz Saefudin, Koryna Aviory, Gunawan Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2021 The research is aimed to describe the students’ mathematical self-regulated learning who follow the learning by modified Moore method and students who follow direct instruction in Linear Algebra courses. This research is quasi experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The research instrument used questionnaire of mathematical self regulated learning. Data analysis techniques used descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The result of the research shows that: the students’ mathematical self-regulated learning with modified Moore method is better than the students’ mathematical self-regulated learning with direct instruction. The improvement of the students’ mathematical self-regulated learning with modified Moore method is better than students with direct instruction. Learning using the modified Moore method can be used to develop students’ mathematical self-regulated learning. Therefore, lecturers can use this learning as an alternative in Linear Algebra courses.
Development of Mathematics Module Based on M-APOS Learning Model to Improve Students' Mathematical Problem Solving Ability Abdul Aziz Saefudin, Koryna Aviori, Korinta Ayuningtyas Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2019 This research aimed to develop mathematics module based on M-APOS learning model to improving students mathematical problem-solving abilities grade VII. This research used the Research and Development (RnD) method. The development model used is Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE). Data collection techniques include observation techniques, questionnaires, and math problem-solving skills tests. The result of the research that the development of a mathematical module is based on the M-APOS learning model to improve mathematical problem-solving abilities in the quadrilateral material of class VII of Junior High School by fulfilling valid, practical and effective criteria.
Comparative Study of Learning Using E-Learning and Printed Materials on Independent Learning and Creativity Niken Wahyu Utami, Abdul Aziz Saefudin Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2018 This study aims to determine: 1) differences in students taking independent learning by using e-learning and the students who attend the learning by using the print instructional materials ; 2) differences in the creativity of students who follow learning with e-learning and the students who attend the learning by using the print instructional materials ; 3) differences in learning independence and creativity of students attend learning with e-learning and the students who attend lessons using printed teaching materials in the subject of Mathematics Instructional Media Development. This study was a quasi-experimental research design using only posttest control design. The study population was all students who take courses in Learning Mathematics Media Development, Academic Year 2014/2015 100 students and used a random sample (random sampling) is 60 students. To test the hypothesis used multivariate analysis of variance or multivariable analysis of variance (MANOVA) of the track. The results of this study indicate that 1) There is a difference in student learning independence following study using the e-learning and the students who attend lessons using printed teaching materials in the lecture PMPM ( F = 4.177, p = 0.046 < 0.05 ) ; 2 ) There is no difference in the creativity of the students who complete the learning by using e -learning and students to follow the learning using printed teaching materials in the lecture PMPM ( F = 0.470, p = 0.496 > 0.05) ; No difference learning independence and creativity of students attend learning by using e-learning and the students who attend the learning using printed teaching materials in the lecture PMPM (F = 2.452, p = 0.095 > 0.05). Based on these studies suggested that the learning using e -learning can be used to develop student creativity, while learning to use e -learning and teaching materials can be printed to use to develop students’ independence.
