Mathematical Analysis of Malware Spread in Digital Systems Using Atangana–Baleanu–Caputo Fractional Dynamics Tharmalingam Gunasekar, Rajendran Swetha, Shanmugam Manikandan, Sally Almanasra, Suad AlRamouni Algorithms, 2026 This study explores the spread of malware within a digital framework by introducing a unique fractional-order model that employs the Atangana–Baleanu–Caputo (ABC) derivative. As cyber threats grow increasingly sophisticated and widespread, traditional models using classical differential equations often prove inadequate, particularly in capturing long-term memory effects and historical dependencies inherent in real-world systems. To address these challenges, the proposed approach utilizes the non-local characteristics of fractional calculus, offering a more comprehensive framework for understanding malware behavior. The model includes the derivation of the basic reproduction number, ℜ0, to evaluate conditions for malware persistence or elimination, sensitivity analysis and examines equilibrium states to assess overall system stability. Theoretical analysis ensures the existence and uniqueness of solutions through fixed-point techniques. Through numerical simulations, the theoretical results are validated, emphasizing the significant impact of antidotal and recovery measures in controlling malware spread. These findings provide essential guidance for enhancing the protection and robustness of sophisticated cyber-physical and humanoid infrastructures.
Exploring the Intersection of Information Theory and Machine Learning Yousef Jaradat, Mohammad Masoud, Ahmad Manasrah, Mohammad Alia, Khalid Suwais, et al. International Arab Journal of Information Technology, 2025 This study addresses the need for a unified framework demonstrating Information Theory’s (IT) pervasive impact across diverse Machine Learning (ML) tasks. We investigate how IT principles-including entropy, Mutual Information (MI), cross-entropy, KL-divergence, and Information Gain (IG)-rigorously guide ML model design, optimization, and interpretability. Our approach combines theoretical elucidation with empirical validation on standard benchmarks. IT enhances feature selection; for instance, MI-ranked features in the breast cancer dataset improved classifier accuracy to 95.1% (top 20) and 93% (top 5), outperforming F-score selection. It also improves model training; cross-entropy loss in Neural Networks (NNs) for Iris classification led to faster convergence and high accuracy (0.98 training, 0.95 validation), surpassing MSE loss. For generative models, KL-divergence effectively structures Variational Auto-Encoder (VAE) latent spaces from Modified National Institute of Standards and Technology (MNIST) data, promoting compact, continuous representations ideal for generation. Finally, the Information Bottleneck (IB) principle, applied to Canadian Institute For Advanced Research (CIFAR-100), yielded competitive test accuracy (51% vs. 50% for baseline Convolutional Neural Network. (CNN)) and reduced training time (925.02s vs. 1015.75s), highlighting its efficacy in learning compressed, predictive representations. These findings collectively underscore its continued crucial role as a unifying paradigm for addressing fundamental challenges in the evolving ML ecosystem, providing solutions for feature selection, model robustness, and generalization
Identifying Optimal Data Distributions for Enhanced Data Modeling in Machine Learning and Yousef Jaradat International Journal of Advances in Soft Computing and Its Applications, 2025 Understanding how data is distributed is crucial for building accurate models in machine learning and data science projects. In this paper, we explore practical methods to help identify the best-fitting distribution for real-world datasets. We cover visual techniques like histograms and Q-Q plots, as well as statistical tests such as Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) and Anderson-Darling (AD). We also look at model evaluation using criteria like Akaike information criterion (AIC) and Bayesian information criterion (BIC) to ensure a good fit. To illustrate these methods, we use the California Housing dataset, showing how wrong assumptions about data distribution can lead to poor model performance. By following the guidelines provided in this paper, data scientists can choose the right distribution, leading to more accurate models, better anomaly detection, and smarter decisionmaking across different fields.
Strong convergence of split equality variational inequality, variational inclusion, and multiple sets fixed point problems in Hilbert spaces with application Charu Batra, Renu Chugh, Rajeev Kumar, Khaled Suwais, Sally Almanasra, et al. Journal of Inequalities and Applications, 2024 This paper introduces an innovative inertial simultaneous cyclic iterative algorithm designed to address a range of mathematical problems within the realm of split equality variational inequalities. Specifically, the algorithm accommodates finite families of split equality variational inequality problems, infinite families of split equality variational inclusion problems, and multiple-sets split equality fixed point problems involving demicontractive operators in infinite-dimensional Hilbert spaces. The algorithm integrates well-established methods, including the cyclic method, the inertial method, the viscosity approximation method, and the projection method. We establish the strong convergence of this proposed algorithm, demonstrating its applicability in various scenarios and unifying disparate findings from existing literature. Additionally, a numerical example is presented to validate the primary convergence theorem.
Cybersecurity integration in distance learning: an analysis of student awareness and attitudes Adnan Hnaif, Areej Mofeed Derbas, Sally Almanasra Indonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, 2024
With the rapid growth of distance learning, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic, cybersecurity has become increasingly essential to protect students, instructors, and institutions from cyber threats. This paper examines the role of cybersecurity in enhancing students’ security awareness during distance learning. A literature review covers critical cyber threats in distance learning and strategies to mitigate risks through cybersecurity tools, policies, training, and promoting a culture of cybersecurity. Primary research was conducted by surveying 531 university students engaged in distance learning to assess their cybersecurity awareness, attitudes, and behaviors. Results indicate relatively low awareness and adoption of secure practices. Recommendations include implementing multi-layered cybersecurity defenses, student security awareness training, and nurturing a “human firewall” through a cyber-aware campus culture. Cyber risks can be reduced through proactive partnerships between students, faculty, information technology (IT) staff, and administrators to secure distance learning environments.

Applications of integrating artificial intelligence and big data: A comprehensive analysis Sally Almanasra Journal of Intelligent Systems, 2024 The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and big data technologies has the potential to revolutionize various industries, yet there are complexities and challenges associated with their implementation. This comprehensive study aims to investigate the combined impact of AI and big data on operational efficiency, precision, and security across multiple sectors. By utilizing a methodological analysis of 105 peer-reviewed articles sourced from reputable databases, we systematically explore the diverse applications, key innovations, and transformative potential of these technologies. Our findings uncover significant advancements in healthcare diagnostics, drug discovery, personalized education, and smart farming, highlighting how AI enhances big data analytics to drive notable improvements. Specifically, the study reveals the accuracy of AI in healthcare diagnostics, the efficiency of big data in drug discovery, the personalization of learning experiences through AI in education, and the sustainability advancements in agriculture through smart farming. These results underscore a substantial shift toward more sophisticated data-driven decision-making and operational processes facilitated by the integration of AI and big data. This shift addresses the initial research problem and makes a significant contribution to both academic and practical understanding of the role these technologies play in shaping the future of industry operations. The study concludes that while AI and big data integration offers substantial benefits, addressing associated challenges is crucial for maximizing their impact.
