Publications related to virtual laboratories during the covid 19 pandemic: A bibliometric review and analysis S Saparini, N Andriani, M Misbah Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2021 During the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual laboratories are instrumental in learning physics concepts. A virtual laboratory is one media that can be used as a solution to carry out concept discovery activities through simulation using computer software. This article was created to explain the trend of publications related to virtual laboratories during the COVID-19 pandemic for 2020-2021 through bibliometric analysis of the literature. The papers analyzed were obtained using the Publish or Perish (PoP) software on the Google Scholar database. The following publication trend expresses in the form of graphic visualization, which is analyzed using VOSviewer software. Overall, articles with the keyword virtual laboratory published in the late 2020-2021 period focus on its relationship with Covid 19 and evaluation. This focus of research shows that during the past year, the focus of research is how to evaluate learning through virtual laboratories.
Understanding the prospective physics teachers conception of the characteristic of sound S Saparini, M Misbah, W R Rizaldi Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2021 This study aimed to analyze the level of conceptual understanding of prospective teacher students of sound characteristics. This research was descriptive. The subjects were students of Physics Education at Sriwijaya University and Lambung Mangkurat University who participated in wave courses totaling 69 people. The data were collected using a previously developed diagnostic test instrument and modified according to research needs. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed the percentage of conceptual understanding possessed by the respondents (1) 52.17% on pitch and loudness of sound waves from two people shouting simultaneously; (2) 42.11% on the speed of sound wave propagation; (3) 2.90% on the wave superposition concept; and (4) 5.80% on sound reflection. There are still misconceptions occur, the velocity of propagation of sound waves is influenced by the amplitude and frequency of the sound, and a dust particle in front of the sound source will move influenced by the sound’s loudness. Overall, the level of conceptual understanding of some of the characteristics of sound wave concepts varies, and alternative concepts are still emerging, so it needs learning innovations to overcome these problems.
Development of interactive multimedia for learning physics based on traditional games K. Wiyono, I. Ismet, S. Saparini Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2020 This study aims to produce interactive multimedia based on valid and practical traditional games on impulse and momentum material, as well as the effective use of interactive multimedia. This research implements Rowntree development model which consists of planning stage, development stage and evaluation stage. The evaluation stage uses Tessmer formative evaluation (include of self evaluation, expert review, one-to-one evaluation, small group, and field test. Data collection techniques used were expert validation form, student response questionnaire, and learning outcome test. The results of expert validation obtained content validity by 81.56% the category is valid and layout validity 91.87% the category is very valid. The practicality test results at one to one stage were 96.21% the category was very practical and the small group stage was 92.42% the category was very practical. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the use of interactive multimedia developed to learning outcomes is obtained through the field test stage with an n-gain of 0.51 including the medium category. Based on this study it can be concluded that interactive multimedia based on traditional games as an innovation to preserve local wisdom in impulse and momentum materials worthy of use.
Interactive multimedia using multiple-intelligences-based in the lesson of thermodynamics for high school K Wiyono, I Ismet, N Noprianti, H Permawati, S Saparini, et al. Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2019 This research aims to develop interactive multimedia using multiple intelligences-based on in the lesson of thermodynamics which is valid, practical, and effective. The research method used was research and development by using Rowntree development model composed of 1) Planning stage; 2) development stage; and 3) evaluation stage by using Tessmer formative evaluation model which comprises five stages, i.e. (1) self evaluation; (2) expert review; (3) one-to-one evaluation; (4) small group; and (5) field test. Data collection techniques used were expert validation form, student response questionnaire, and learning outcome test. The research results that the product is very valid categorized by 93.11% while practicality is assessed through one-to-one and small group, with 98.46%, and 86.36% respectively. Therefore, the potential effect of the developed product measured in field test stage by 0.37 with medium categorized.
