Background. One of the most important risk factors for heart disease that may be changed is hyperlipidemia. Traditionally, this has been seen as a problem for elderly people, but new data reveals that it is becoming more common among younger people throughout the world. The goal of this study was to find out how common hyperlipidemia is among young adults in Mosul City, Iraq, and what variables make it more likely to happen. Methods. A cross-sectional study was conducted from August 2023 to February 2024 involving 400 young adults aged 18-35 years recruited from primary healthcare centers and university settings in Mosul City. Participants filled out detailed questions about their demographics, lifestyle, and medical history. Anthropometric measures were taken, and blood samples were taken after fasting to check the lipid profile. The National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel III criteria were used to identify hyperlipidemia. We used multivariate logistic regression analysis to find risk variables that were not related to each other. Results. The overall prevalence of hyperlipidemia was 31.5% (95% CI: 27.0-36.3), with higher prevalence among males (37.2%) compared to females (25.5%, p=0.012). The most frequent lipid problem was high LDL cholesterol (22.8%), followed by high triglycerides (19.5%) and low HDL cholesterol (15.8%). In a multivariate analysis, being male (OR 1.68, 95% CI: 1.07–2.64), having a BMI of 25 kg/m² or more (OR 2.53, 95% CI: 1.61–3.97), not getting enough exercise (OR 1.95, 95% CI: 1.24–3.07), eating fast food three times a week or more (OR 1.89, 95% CI: 1.19–3.00), and other lifestyle factors. Conclusions. About one in three young individuals in Mosul City has hyperlipidemia, although most don't know they have it. BMI, lack of physical exercise, and eating habits are all risk factors that may be changed and are significant indicators of hyperlipidemia status. These results show how important it is for young individuals to get screened early and make certain lifestyle changes to avoid heart problems in the future.

Objective: To assess maternal knowledge regarding fever management in children aged 5 years. Methodology : Data were collected from October 7, 2023, to March 30, 2024. A total of 102 preschoolers (ages 3-5) from Alsalam and Ibn Sina hospitals in Mosul City/Iraq were recruited using convenience sampling. This study used a Completely Randomized Design. The researcher collected data by selecting a sample of participants and intruding to answers with simple explanations without giving any answer or suggestion that could bias the results. Data was collected one day a week from 8:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. The time required is 15–30 minutes. In face-to-face interviews, trained interviewers gave the moms the questionnaire. Result: most mothers in this research (39.85%) were 25–33 years old. The majority, 29.80%, had elementary education, 30.2% had more than four children, and 78.75% were homemakers. Our study revealed that 52.5% of mothers struggled to regulate their body temperature, starting around 38.5˚ (28.4%). They believe armpits are the best temperature sampling locations (51.6%) and medicine is the first step (45.6%). Mothers recognize that rainy covering can be used (66.3%). For fever in children under 5 years, 70.7% of mothers visited a physician, and 60.7% chose a height-appropriate dosage.
