EDUCATION
In the seventh semester of Marine Science, students usually focus on advanced and applied subjects related to marine research, environmental management, and biotechnology. They study Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) or AMDAL, which teaches them how to evaluate and predict the effects of human activities on marine ecosystems and coastal environments. Students also learn Marine Biotechnology, which explores the use of marine organisms for various applications such as pharmaceuticals, food, bioenergy, and environmental remediation. In addition, this semester often includes courses on coastal resource management, marine pollution control, ocean modeling, and marine policy. Practical fieldwork and laboratory research are also emphasized to help students apply scientific methods to real marine environmental issues.
