Real Time Performance Assessment of a 200 kWp Grid Connected Solar PV Plant Vineet Kumar Tiwari, Sanjay Maurya, Swapnil Srivastava, Manish Kumar Singh, Jay Singh, Aishvarya Narain 4th IEEE International Conference on Power Electronics and Iot Applications in Renewable Energy and Its Control Parc 2026, 2026 This paper presents a field performance assessment of a <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$200 ~\text{kW}_{\mathrm{p}}$</tex> grid connected rooftop solar Photovoltaic (PV) system installed at Prayagraj, India. The system comprises 363 monocrystalline silicon modules <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$(550 \text{Wp}$</tex> each) operating through two 80 kW grid-tied inverters under a PV-first energy management strategy. Measured performance metrics, including daily and monthly energy yields, inverter efficiency, maximum power point tracking (MPPT) behaviour, and thermal effects on output, are analyzed. The operational constraints of the real-world including partial shading, irradiance variation, mismatch of MPPT, and cell temperature effects are investigated. Performance analysis involves the effects of partial shading, cloud cover, MPPT changes and the effects of the high ambient temperatures on the production of energy in tropical climates. Measured performance ratio (PR) reached 71.0 %, reflecting combined losses from thermal effects (6 %), soiling (4.5 %), inverter efficiency (2.5 %), and atmospheric attenuation typical for monsoon-period operation in this region. The system has a grid export and imports of 84.35 kWh and 2181 kWh respectively when the load is low and during peak power demand respectively, proving the bidirectional power-flow management. Environmental impact analysis indicates 12.8 tonnes monthly <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{CO}_{2}$</tex> emission avoidance. These results validate the technical feasibility and performance characteristics of medium-scale institutional solar PV plant in tropical monsoon climates.
SimEV 1.1: A Computational Framework for Electric Vehicle Simulation, Performance Analytics and System-Level Optimization Swapnil Srivastava, Abdul Zeeshan, Vinod Kumar Vishwakarma, Manish Kumar Singh, Jay Singh, Rajeev Kumar Chauhan 4th IEEE International Conference on Power Electronics and Iot Applications in Renewable Energy and Its Control Parc 2026, 2026 The rapidly growing demand for acquiring electric vehicles (EV) have created need for reliable simulation tools which are capable of modeling energy/power flow, vehicle performance, and component sizing estimation. SimEV 1.1 developed by Dorleco Technologies, is a unique simulation tool which estimates system sizing and characteristics with complete vehicle dynamics. This paper presents a detailed study of the SimEV 1.1 tool, its architecture, its analytical capability and its utility for researchers and academicians. It is demonstrated that how the simulation tool helps the users in understanding energy flow/ consumption, torque speed characteristics, and validating system design matching real world scenario. The analysis confirms that SimEV 1.1 offer significant improvements as compared to other restricted EV simulation platforms available as on date.
Beyond Shadows: Mitigating the Impact of Partial Shading on Solar Cell Performance Manish Kumar Singh, Vinod Kumar Yadav 2024 International Conference on Control Computing Communication and Materials Iccccm 2024, 2024 Partial shading is one of the significant factors that lead to drastic reductions in solar photovoltaic systems' harvested power and efficiency. This paper elaborates, in detail, the effects of partial shading on the performance of solar cells and various means of reducing its ill effect. More specifically, it shall discuss the electrical characteristics of the shaded cells, hot-spot formation, and power losses emanating from these. Several circuit topologies and optimization methods focus on the side effects of shading. These include bypass diodes in module-level maximum power point tracking, or MPPT, and string optimizers beyond that. New technologies like bifacial and perovskite solar cells add extra value in terms of the higher shade tolerance. Further, it discusses some advanced optimization algorithms using machine learning and artificial intelligence, which could be used for intelligent shade mitigation. This raises challenges and points of future research for improved resilient and efficient solar energy systems.
Demand-side management of an isolated residential community with electric vehicle charging through the use of solar generation and battery storage Abhishek Kumar Singh, Manish Kumar Singh, Devesh Singh, Kapil Kumar, Divyanshu Singh, Chakravarthy Badal 2024 International Conference on Control Computing Communication and Materials Iccccm 2024, 2024 In this era of sustainable transportation, the proliferation of electric vehicles shows the right path for sustainable transportation. Considering household energy consumption patterns, managing the demand for electric vehicle charging in residential communities is a noteworthy challenge to reduce the potential strain on existing grids. Implementation of DSM is based on the behavioral changes of the customers is the way forward. It can be price-based, or it can be incentive-based programs. In price-based DR, electric tariff signals are analytics to schedule charging during off-peak hours. More with this, we apply load-shifting techniques like incentivizing delay charging and utilizing an energy storage system. This work examines a rule-based technique designed for a remote residential neighborhood that wants to combine solar energy production and battery storage with electric vehicle (EV) charging. The project aims to use renewable energy sources optimally and EV charging loads while maintaining grid stability. A thorough examination evaluates the suggested strategy's viability and efficiency in fulfilling the community's energy requirements while reducing dependence on conventional sources. A sustainable residential community might benefit greatly from such integrated systems, as evidenced by simulation findings showing notable gains in energy efficiency and load control.
ANFIS based four quadrant chopper control of separately excited DC motor: A literature review Stuti, Manish Kumar Singh, Swapnil Srivastava Iccccm 2016 2nd IEEE International Conference on Control Computing Communication and Materials, 2017 Separately Excited DC motors (SEDCM) are widely used in industries because of their advantages in easy speed control and high performance. Their speed can be controlled by Armature voltage control and Field voltage control up to the base speed and above the base speed respectively. A rectifier or chopper is used as a converter to convert a fixed DC into variable DC to provide speed control to the motor. Many controllers have been applied for the control of motor speed. A closed loop control model has been developed having two control loops i.e. a speed control loop followed by a current control loop. Many researchers have proposed different models for this purpose. This paper presents a literature review of the research work done in this field till date. A comparative analysis is also done between the conventional methods and Artificial Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) based controller to find the best suitable method.
