My name is Shams Sohel Islam, recently completed my Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Science Education and research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram, India under the supervision of Prof. Ramesh Chandra Nath. I have successfully defended my thesis on 11th April 2022. I have been trained and matured as an experimental condensed matter physicist with a pivotal focus on quantum magnetism. My research work and dissertation largely examines and intends to primarily investigate the ground state properties of magnetically frustrated spin systems. I was actively involved in the installation of solid-state NMR setup consisting a 9-T field sweep magnet (JANIS), a TECMAG/REDSTONE spectrometer, and a cryostat (JANIS) with accessories in IISER Thiruvananthapuram,
India and performed the very first 7Li NMR experiments. My extensive research experience allows me to work on a vast array of research problems in magnetism and to learn new tools, techniques, concepts and frame works as per need.
