Digital Voices and Authenticity: A Mixed-Method Study of Auto-Tune in Music Production Suryansh Shrivastava, Palaniappan Sellappan 2025 IEEE 3rd Global Conference on Wireless Computing and Networking Gcwcn 2025, 2025 The rise of Auto-Tune and digital processing in music production has kindled discussion on the authenticity of contemporary music. Musicians around the world are extensively utilizing digital technologies to enhance the vocal accuracy and creativity. This results in better music quality. But its impact on legitimacy and natural talent is debatable. This work tries to track the way in which digital music has modified the way in which music is produced and listened. The work traces the way in which Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) impact music production, live performance and recordings. It will employ Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Signal to Noise (SNR) ratio analysis and gauge the impact of autotunes. This work will also throw light on the emerging perception of authenticity in a digital arena.
Adoption of Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on Decision-Making and Trading Performance Accuracy: Evidence from Finance Solopreneurs Prathamesh Veling, Palaniappan Sellappan 2025 International Conference on Sustainability Innovation and Technology Icsit 2025, 2025 Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming how independent stock market traders make decisions. They can respond more confidently to market changes and conduct data analysis at a quicker pace. In the past, these types of tools were primarily used by large institutions. Many AI tools are now available to assist finance solopreneurs (Traders who operate independently) with their planning and results. This study examines the impact of AI on two key areas: decision-making effectiveness and trading performance accuracy. A total of 220 responses were collected through purposive sampling, focusing on traders familiar with AI applications. The study examines the use of AI across five key functions: signal generation, market pattern recognition, strategy back-testing, trade execution, and sentiment analysis. To evaluate the impact, correlation analysis, ANOVA, and threshold-based segmented regression were implemented. Researchers have found that using AI in small amounts doesn't bring about big gains. However, traders say that once usage exceeds a certain level, they can make decisions more quickly, have greater confidence, earn more money, and execute orders more accurately. The results show that using AI regularly and often leads to measurable gains. But how people use it and how they are trained also play a big part. For AI tools to work effectively, they must be carefully integrated to avoid overuse or reliance on AI.
Decentralized Social Trading: A Blockchain Approach for the Indian Market Palaniappan Sellappan, Kavitha Shanmugam Proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Inventive Research in Computing Applications Icirca 2025, 2025 Social trading has transformed financial markets by allowing investors to follow and replicate expert traders. In India, social information networks (SINs) and Social Trading Platforms (STPs) like broker-driven platforms, social media groups, and trading forums influence investment decisions. But these centralized systems have security risks, low transparency, and trade manipulation. On the other hand, global blockchain-based STPs, such as eToroX, dYdX, and Melon Protocol, use the technique of decentralization. It is based on smart contracts, and distributed ledger technology (DLT) and ensures secure and automatic trade execution. This paper analyses Indian SINs, STPs and global blockchain-based platforms, highlighting specific features and key differences in security, transparency, and efficiency. The authors suggest a new blockchain-based social trading framework for India. The proposed system encompasses smart contracts for trustless execution, decentralized identity verification, a credible trader reputation system, and SEBI compliance. The framework is aimed at improving market integrity, removing intermediaries, and ensuring a secure, transparent trading environment. The study highlights the advantages and challenges in implementing the proposed system. This work will provide a basis for developing a country-specific, safe, and secure social trading platform for Indian market.
Layer-2 Optimized NFT Lending with Risk-Aware Smart Contracts and Interoperable Blockchain Protocols Palaniappan Sellappan, Kavitha Shanmugam, Vishnu Periyannan Palaniappan 2025 World Conference on Cutting Edge Science and Technology Wccest 2025, 2025 The rise of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) has moved beyond digital art into decentralized finance (DeFi) for loans. NFTs are now commonly used as collateral in many decentralized lending platforms in DeFi. The paper evaluates three lending protocols: NFTfi, Arcade, and BendDAO in detail. These platforms show different methods for risk mitigation, liquidation, and borrower-lender interactions. This paper suggests a detailed risk assessment framework for NFT collateral in DeFi lending platforms. It highlights NFT illiquidity, high volatility, valuation uncertainty, and protocol design problems. The use of Layer -2 blockchain based lending model results in reduced gas fees and supports scalability. It is specifically optimized for networks like Polygon that offer higher throughput and lower operational costs. Layer-2 deployment facilitates faster processing speeds and significantly reduces transaction fees for users. The framework integrates interoperable blockchain protocols that support seamless NFT collateral migration across chains. This cross-chain operability increases platform liquidity and lending flexibility for decentralized finance participants. Dynamic, risk-aware smart contracts modify lending terms in real time using asset volatility indicators. They assess borrower risk profiles with on-chain data to maintain adaptive, secure lending conditions. Monte Carlo simulation is used to estimate default risks and delays in NFT liquidation. This simulation helps understand results when the market conditions keep changing. Findings say lending platforms need dynamic risk settings and strong pricing oracles for safety. Smart, borrower behavior-based lending strategies are also needed for steady growth in NFT backed DeFi lending. This paper also provides insights into use of advance techniques beyond smart contracts to enhance the system. This research gives useful ideas to DeFi developers, investors, and regulators handling NFT collateral. It helps people understand NFT lending risks better and enable us to design stronger lending systems.
Blockchain-Cloud Integration for Cross-Border Invoice Factoring: A Secure and Scalable Framework for Sustainable Trade Finance Palaniappan Sellappan, Kavitha Shanmugam, Varun Sarda, Vijay Arpudaraj Antonyaj 2025 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Ledger Technologies Icdlt 2025, 2025 Cross-border trade finance supports liquidity and global supply chain growth, especially for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Traditional documentation and invoice factoring systems face delays, huge documentation, fraud risks, poor interoperability, and limited transparency which results in unsustainable action. Blockchain-based trade finance improves immutability, decentralized validation, and automation through smart contracts. However, it suffers from scalability limitations, fragmented data management, and regulatory integration issues. Academic literature lacks a unified framework combining blockchain and cloud to address these operational gaps. This study fills the gap by evaluating traditional, blockchain, and hybrid models in trade finance systems. The paper reviews major use cases to understand realworld blockchain implementations in trade finance. These include HSBC and ING's blockchain letter of credit, and Bank of Canada's Project Jasper. UBS's blockchain payment initiative is also analyzed for its real-time settlement and auditability benefits. The study compares traditional and blockchain systems across speed, security, transparency, and integration parameters. It identifies that blockchain alone is insufficient due to its lack of scalability and limited system compatibility. To address this, the paper proposes a Blockchain-Cloud Integrated Trade Finance (TF) Framework. This includes hybrid data storage, Application Programming Interface (API) compliance, digital identity verification, and stakeholder dashboards. Using a design science approach, the framework improves auditability, transparency, and regulatory alignment. Findings benefit regulators, banks, and FinTech's. The framework not only enhances efficiency and compliance but also contributes to sustainable trade finance

Does ESG Influence Corporate Financial Performance? Exploration in BRICS Countries Through Cross- Lagged Panel Analyses Kavitha Shanmugam, Palaniappan Sellappan Implementing Esg Frameworks Through Capacity Building and Skill Development, 2024 Globally, the essentials of adhering to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) frameworks has grown manifold across sectors and regions due to their multifaceted impact on businesses, investors, and society at large. In recent times the alignment between ESG and Corporate Financial performance (CFP) is gaining significant interest. The influence of the relationship between ESG factors and CFP differs depending on the specific characteristics of nations and their institutional frameworks. The primary objective of this study is to examine the reciprocal causality and autoregression (AR) impacts between ESG performance and the financial performance of BRICS firms through the analysis of data utilizing a five-wave cross-lagged panel structural equation modelling approach. The overall and individual ESG scores of BRICS listed companies from the Refinitiv Eikon database between 2018 and 2022 has been used. The results of research are beneficial for a variety of stakeholders including investors and policymakers.
Demystifying the essentials of entrepreneurial orientation and competence for small retailers: evidence from India Palaniappan Sellappan, Kavitha Shanmugam Journal of Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies, 2024 Purpose Environmental dynamics affect all sectors, and retailing is no exception. Scholarships reveal that, in such turbulent times, entrepreneurial characteristics are essential for business. In academic research, entrepreneurial characteristics like entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and entrepreneurial competence (EC) are seldom evaluated for retailers. This study aims to decode the impact of small retailers’ EO and EC on firm business performance (BP). It also traces the mediation effect of EC in the relationship between EO and BP. Design/methodology/approach The study executed among 740 small retailers is a pioneering work to trace EO’s efficacy via EC on the retailer’s BP. The present research is a primal work in the Indian context. This work redesigns the EC scale to suit the retail context and evaluate its mediation role in the EO and BP relationship. Findings Examining the mediation model through structural equation modelling (SEM) adds empirical evidence to entrepreneurial value creation (EVC) theory and throws light on the indispensable qualities required for small business retailers. The outcomes of the SEM model portray that there is an association between the EO, EC and BP. Research limitations/implications This study, though carried out methodically, it is constrained by the ensuing intricacies. The investigation was limited to the small- and medium-retailers engaged in retailing with a floor space from 500 to 5,000 square feet. All three constructs used in the study are measured using the self-reported perceptual scale, which infuses the subjectivity in the data. Exploring the EO and EC of widely dispersed retailers, examining the entrepreneurial character of large-format independent retailers and evaluating financial performance measures through retailers will add value to the study in future. Originality/value The study verified the central role of EC in the intangible resource-reward relationship. Among the five pillars of EVC theory, the role of intention and external finance are not considered in this work. The present work explored the EO and EC of existing retailers, and hence intention is excluded. The study concentrates on small retailers, and the role of external financing is not explored. Mishra and Zachary (2014b) opined that the EVC process should be studied in different context and listed out several prepositions. Considering the role of intention and external financing and studying several prepositions spelt out in the theory in varying contexts will throw more lights on the EVC process.
