Investigations on structure, dielectric and ferroelectric properties of SrBi2Ta2O9 ceramic via A-site defect engineering G. K. Sahu, S. Behera, S. R. Mishra Phase Transitions, 2022 Yttrium-modified bismuth-layered ferroelectric SrBi2Ta2O9 (SBT) with general formula SrBi2-xY3x/4Ta2O9 (where x = 0.00, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075 and 0.10) are prepared by mixed oxide route. The structural, dielectric, ferroelectric and conductivity behavior of the above compounds for each composition of Y is discussed. The formation of monophase materials is noted from the X-ray diffraction pattern. The structure of the grains is studied using Scanning electron microscopy. The variation of the dielectric permittivity with temperature at some particular frequencies manifests a diffuse order phase transition with reduced T c (ferroelectric transition temperature) and ϵ r (relative permittivity) with respect to higher concentration of Y. The ferroelectric properties in the materials are confirmed using hysteresis (P-E) loops. The remnant polarization of the materials is found to increase with the addition of Y while the coercive field follows the reverse trend.
Optimization of Performance and Emission characteristics of CI engine with various biodiesel using Taguchi Method Nabnit Panigrahi, Alok Kumar Mohapatra, Sruti Ranjan Mishra, Sabyasachi Sahu 1st Odisha International Conference on Electrical Power Engineering Communication and Computing Technology Odicon 2021, 2021 This paper deals with biodiesel blend i.e. neem, mahua, polanaga and simarouba oil methyl ester of each. Experimental analysis has been performed separately in a CI engine. Performance along with emission analysis has been conducted. The control parameters selected were Compression ratio (CR), Fuel fraction FF (in %), and Load P (in kg) which have influence on the response. The three selected control parameters at three levels indicates nine trials of experiments have been conducted for each fuel, with the stage of every factor for all test run as specified on the arrangement. The optimal conditions for the control parameters gave optimum responses. The response variable have been optimized was Brake Thermal efficiency (BTE) for maximum value, Brake Specific Fuel Consumption (BSFC) and NOx by the least as much as possible. The signal optimal settings of the parameters were accomplished by the ratio of signal to noise (S/N) that helps in data investigation and prediction of the optimal result.
Effect of HCl Concentration and Acetone Washing on the Dielectric and Conduction Properties of Polyaniline Salts Jayashree Mohanty, S.R. Mishra, Tanmaya Badapanda, S. Anwar Recent Innovations in Chemical Engineering, 2021 Background: In order to know the effect of acid concentration, comparative electrical properties of PANI salt samples prepared in two different media like water, 1M HCl and 2M HCl, have been studied. Methods: To know the effect of acetone washing on the electrical behavior of the polymer, the polymer samples were washed with acetone. The X-ray diffraction pattern shows a crystalline nature of all the prepared PANI salt samples except non-acetone washed PANI salt prepared in 2M HCl. The SEM micrograph suggests a uniform and continuous morphology for PANI salts prepared in 1M HCl, agglomerated granulated structure for PANI salts prepared in 1M HCL, and fiber type structure for PANI salts prepared in 2M HCl. Results: The study showed that the dielectric constant decreases with frequency in the case of all the synthesized polymer samples. The variation of AC conductivity of the synthesized polymer samples with respect to the frequency at room temperature follows the power law. Through the fitting parameters, the DC conductivity was found. Conclusion : The results showed that the polymer sample, which was prepared in water medium and not washed with acetone, had the highest dielectric and conductivity values, whereas for acetone washed samples highest dielectric and electrical conductivity was observed for the sample prepared in 2M HCl.
A Multi-Objective Optimization of Output Parameters of a Single Cylinder Diesel Engine Running Methyl Esters and Different Additives: Taguchi-Fuzzy Based Approach Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2021
Dielectric and conduction behaviour of H2SO4 doped conducting Polyaniline J. Mohanty, P. Behera, S. R. Mishra, T. Badapanda, S. Anwar Iop Conference Series Materials Science and Engineering, 2017 We report the effect of H2SO4 doping on the dielectric and conduction behaviour of Polyaniline (PANI) samples. The PANI salt prepared by oxidising aniline hydrochloride in distilled water with the oxidant ammonium persulphate with continuous stirring at room temperature and PANI base is produced by subjecting PANI salt to a reaction with 0.5M NaOH. H2SO4 doped PANI is prepared by subjecting PANI base to reaction with 1M H2SO4 at room temperature under constant stirring for 1h. The synthesied PANI along with the doped samples were further washed with acetone to study the effect of acetone washing on the electrical behaviour. It is observed that the dielectric constant as well as the dielectric loss decreases with frequency in the entire studied sample. The frequency dependent AC conductivity at room temperature obeys the power law and the DC conductivity was obtained from the fitting parameter. It is found that the non acetone washed PANI doped in 1M H2SO4 shows highest dielectric constant and conductivity.
