Michael Seome Swafo is a young professional soil scientist. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Soil Science from the University of Limpopo. He has skills in soil survey, classification, characterisation and sampling, data analysis, land use planning and land evaluation (i.e., land capability and soil suitability classification) for allocation of land for agricultural and non-agricultural usage, geo-statistics (i.e., spatial analysis), geospatial analysis, conventional (or traditional) and digital soil mapping.

EDUCATION

I hold a bachelor of science in agriculture majoring in Soil Science from the University of Limpopo. I am currently a Master of Science candidate at the University of Limpopo majoring in Soil Science.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

My broad research interest is in Soil Science. I have worked on research topics related to land use change, land use planning, geostatics, soil geography, soil pedology, soil fertility, digital soil mapping, soil quality, soil management and precision agriculture, and spatial analysis.
