Dr. Tanim Jabid Hossain is a microbial biochemist and molecular biology researcher specializing in host–microbe–environment interactions, with expertise in microbial metabolism, functional genomics, glycomics, metabolomics, and secretomics. He completed his Ph.D. through a joint doctoral program at the Glycometabolome Laboratory, RIKEN, and Saitama University, Japan, focusing on glycoconjugate catabolic pathways. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, and Founder and Principal Investigator of the HOPE Lab (Laboratory for Health, Omics, and Pathway Exploration). His research focuses on microbial metabolic pathways and bioactive microbial products, including plant-, animal-, and human-associated probiotics, exopolysaccharides, biosurfactants, pigments, and antimicrobial peptides, with applications in health, agriculture, and environmental sustainability.
