  • RESEARCH WORK IN DEVELOPING DESIGN SOLUTIONS ON THE EXAMPLE OF SOIL REINFORCEMENT UNDER THE FOUNDATIONS OF SUPPORTS OF STAIRS TO THE MAGDEBURG LAW MONUMENT IN KYIV
Oleksandr Molodid, Volodymyr Skochko, Olena Murasova, Ivan Reznichenko, Olena Molodid, et al.
International Journal of Conservation Science, 2025
The stairs leading to the oldest existing monument in Kyiv – the Magdeburg Law Monument – stretch along the slope of Khreshchatyi Yar. The last reconstruction was carried out in 2013. In 2019, as part of scientific and technical support work for the construction of a pedestrian and bicycle bridge crossing between the parks "Khreshchatyi" and "Volodymyrska Hirka", research work was carried out aimed at securing the soil base under the columns’ foundations of the stairs to the Magdeburg Law Monument. The authors developed scientifically based structural and technological solutions for securing the foundations under the foundations of the staircase columns, which began to shift along the slope during the construction of temporary supports of the pedestrian and bicycle bridge crossing next to them. During experimental studies, the effectiveness of the method of securing soils with polyurethane materials was tested and proven. It was found that due to the introduction of polymeric materials, the soil was compacted, and fastened with strong layers of the soil-polymer mixture that penetrated it. Based on the results of experimental studies, design solutions were developed that provide for the injection of polyurethane material through two separate tubes at two elevation levels from the base of the foundation.
  • Passive individual residential building overview and concept for a continental temperate climate
Oleksandr Pohosov, Volodymyr Skochko, Vladyslav Solonnikov, Mykhailo Kyrychenko, Nataliia Chepurna
    Architectural Studies, 2024
The research relevance is determined by the need to develop energy-efficient and climate-resilient living spaces to ensure sustainable development and reduce environmental impact. The study aimed to analyse the integrated concept of a passive individual residential building specially adapted to the conditions of the continental temperate climate, with a focus on maximum energy efficiency and ensuring a high level of comfort for residents. While the research, analytical, classification, functional, synthesis and other methods were employed. The article examines the trend of improving the energy efficiency and environmental friendliness of individual residential buildings that meet the requirements of carbon neutrality and sustainability. The use of modern thermal insulation materials and optimisation of the concept of minimising heat-conducting inclusions has helped to dramatically reduce the building’s heat transfer losses. The result is an integrated design that uses high-quality insulation materials, optimally positioned windows to maximise solar energy and efficient ventilation systems with heat recovery. However, infiltration losses remain significant, and improving the efficiency of ventilation system recovery and regeneration is a key area of research. To reduce transmission losses, it is important to consider internal and external heat gains in individual buildings. Organising aspects that consider the house as a biosphere-compatible and energy-efficient structure is an urgent task, and the study is aimed at developing an engineering and applied project concept. The practical significance of this research is determined by the creation of an innovative housing solution that not only optimises energy consumption and ensures environmental friendliness, but also meets the specific requirements of the continental temperate climate, contributing to the sustainability and efficiency of the construction sector

Oleksandr MOLODID, Volodymyr SKOCHKO, Sergey BOGDAN, Marek PABICH, Karol WYSZNACKI, et al.
International Journal of Conservation Science, 2024
Kyiv Velodrome is the oldest sports facility in Ukraine and one of the oldest in Europe. In 2016-2017, the restoration of its track, administrative building, construction of an underground parking lot and reorganization of the adjacent territory were carried out. As part of the scientific and technical support, an examination of the velodrome track was carried out to determine all existing defects and damages and as a result, recommendations for their elimination were provided. In particular, solutions have been developed to repair cracks and recommended measures are aimed at preventing their appearance in the future. Also, within the scope of research work, some experimental studies were carried out with the designed constructions of the bicycle track for their compliance with the technical documentation and to establish durability (in laboratory conditions). The article analyzes and researches the structural and technological solutions proposed in the project documentation for the restoration and arrangement of the bicycle track, providing solutions and recommendations that will ensure the necessary quality and the project's design life. Thus, recommendations are being considered to reduce the likelihood of the appearance of new cracks and the development of existing ones on the track.
  • Minimization of Heat Losses in District Heating Networks by Optimizing their Configuration
    V. Skochko, V. Solonnikov, O. Pohosov, K. Haba, Ye. Kulinko, et al.
Problems of the Regional Energetics, 2024
The objective of this work is to elucidate the mathematical foundations for optimizing the con-figuration of district heating system networks. Existing and most effective approaches to opti-mizing thermal networks based on minimizing heat losses were analysed, and principles and cor-responding mathematical tools were proposed to account for objective technical constraints im-posed on these district heating networks by regulatory requirements, both at the technological and urban planning levels. The goal is achieved by solving the problems of modeling the coor-dinates of nodes and the lengths of sections of thermal networks using instrumental means to determine the most rational positions of the branching nodes in terms of their coordinates to identify economically viable directions for laying each fragment of the corresponding networks. To make the proposed approach to optimizing thermal networks practical, additional mathemati-cal tools must be introduced to account for specific urban planning conditions and constraints imposed on heating systems, which must be considered in the design process. The most im-portant results are the obtained mathematical model of the district heating network, which allows for considering the actual technical conditions for connection to the networks and urban plan-ning conditions and constraints. The significance of the results obtained is that the application of the developed algorithm allows not only to reduce the total heat losses during the transportation of the heat carrier from heat sources to consumers but also, as a consequence, to increase the energy efficiency level of the entire heating system, reduce primary energy costs, and green-house gas emissions.
  • RESEARCH OF THE COMPONENT COMPOSITION OF DRYING RENOVATION BRICK CRUMB PLASTER FOR RESTORATION OF ARCHITECTURAL MONUMENTS
Oleksandr MOLODID, Ruslana PLOKHUTA, Olena MOLODID, Marek POCZĄTKO, Katarzyna JANICKA-ŚWIERGULA, et al.
International Journal of Conservation Science, 2024
The article presents the results of analytical studies to establish the authentic component composition of the brick crumb plaster, which was used to furnish architectural monuments of the 10th – 12th centuries. In laboratory conditions, a number of experimental studies aimed at the production of brick crumb plaster according to the historical recipe were performed. However, a number of requirements were set for such plaster, according to which it must meet European and domestic requirements for drying renovation plasters. The peculiarity of such plasters is low compressive strength (1.5 – 5.0MPa), high porosity (>45 %) and a low coefficient of resistance to water vapour diffusion (12), which allows drying overmoistened walls and at the same time extracting salts from them and accumulating them in the pores of their volume. In the process of experimental research, the historical recipe of the plaster was slightly modified, which made it possible to obtain a plaster with the specified parameters. The performance of plastering works with a scientifically based recipe of brick crumb renovation plaster on an architectural monument in the city of Chernihiv gave a positive result with a decrease in salinity and humidity of the walls.
  • MODERN RESTORATION METHODS FOR DAMAGED HISTORICAL BUILDINGS AS A RESULT OF MILITARY AGGRESSION. CASE OF EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
Oleksandr MOLODID, Volodymyr SKOCHKO, Ruslana PLOKHUTA, Olena MOLODID, Ivan MUSIIAKA, et al.
International Journal of Conservation Science, 2024
As a result of the military operations taking place on the territory of Ukraine, thousands of buildings and structures have suffered significant damage and destruction. A substantial share of such buildings belongs to immovable cultural heritage sites, such as historical buildings of local and national significance; frequently, including educational institutions such as kindergartens, schools, lyceums etc. Damaged buildings are subject to restoration by repairing or strengthening their building structures, restoration, or conservation. There is a large number of repair materials and technologies for conducting restoration works, which are regulated by the requirements of DSTU B V.3.1-2:2016. However, while performing repair work on the structures of historical buildings, it is necessary to focus on the DSTU-NB B B.3.2-4 requirements. Among the most common types of damage to historical buildings caused by blast waves, splinters etc., are cracks in the masonry of wall structures and foundations; cracks in the joint of structures; knocking out fragments of masonry with damage to facing; damage to the elements of the floor and covering; systematic soaking of foundations etc. An essential aspect of restoring historical buildings is the maximum preservation of their historical and cultural significance with minimal interventions in the structure of structures and their appearance. The article considers modern methods of restoring the operational suitability of historical building elements, namely repair of cracks by injection and impregnation; strengthening the walls of buildings with the help of external reinforcement with carbon tapes and installation of high-strength rods in stone walls; restoration of stonework using special mixtures; strengthening of reinforced concrete and metal span elements with high-strength carbon fabrics, or lamellas (FRP); installation of waterproofing of walls subjected to systematic locking from the middle of the building.

  • Modeling of the intellectual system’s work for supporting decisions making on technical regulation in building under uncertainty conditions
    Dmytro Isaienko, Volodymyr Scochko
    Eureka Physics and Engineering, 2019
The main aim of the work is to elaborate algorithms and structure of data of the intellectual system of decisions making, able to provide functioning of the organizational-technical system of technical regulation in building under uncertainty conditions. The ability of intellectual systems to function under uncertainty conditions of different types is provided by using methods of indistinct mathematics and organization of a data structure, formed for revealing uncertainty automatically. The main attention in the article is paid to forming a data structure and algorithm for revealing uncertainty, caused by excessive information. The material of the research is information, contained in normative documents, according to which the technical regulation of the Ukrainian building branch is realized. It is especially urgent to reveal conflicts of parameters and rules, connected with reformation of the legislation in a part, related to the technical regulation of the branch. The automatic revelation of uncertainty that results in a discordance or conflict of parameters and rules, essentially facilitates elaboration of project documents and realization of expert evaluations at stages of building and exploitation of unique objects. But introduction of such intellectual systems allows to raise a speed and reliability of the work of other systems of the documents’ circulation under transformation conditions essentially. The scientific novelty of the work is in using models of indistinct mathematics at formalizing norms and rules of the technical regulation in building and elaborating methods of their processing by the intellectual system of making decisions. The results of the work are demonstrated on the example of determination of a technical regulation parameter at excessive information, manifested in the presence of more than one normative document with instructions for determination of one regulation parameter. The probation and adaptation of norms and rules are realized in the legislative regulation of the activity in the Ukrainian building branch under conditions of changes, directed on improving the city-planning activity according to world standards.
