The research project falls within the field of human sciences in the area of Education, Research Line: Education Policies and Management. It aims to study good school practices in public schools located in regions of high social vulnerability in the Greater ABC Paulista, based on performance in large-scale assessments. To achieve the objectives, a review of the specialized literature will be carried out, establishing the so-called State of the Question, followed by field research to collect empirical data, through semi-structured interviews and focus groups with directors, teachers, employees, students and parents of students. Schools will be selected according to their performance in the latest Basic Education Development Index - Ideb released, and based on the São Paulo Social Vulnerability Index - IPVS of the SEADE Foundation. The importance of research related to management and public policies for assessing basic and higher education has intensified in recent years. From this perspective, the objective of this project is to investigate the influences of management and public policies for assessing quality in basic and higher education processes, paying attention to the multi-conceptual issues of quality and its investigative consequences, which have been characterized by accelerated changes in the most diverse areas of knowledge. The qualitative-quantitative methodological approach will be supported by statistical data resulting from publicly accessible census surveys, IBGE, IPEA, academic rankings, tables, indexes, basic and higher education census, among other surveys resulting from the investigative field.
