Yevgen Tsegelnyk is an Associate Professor at the Department of Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies of the O.M. Beketov National University of Urban Economy in Kharkiv (Ukraine). He received his Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering from National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute” (Ukraine) in 2010. He has more than 15 years of international experience in research and development. He had an international traineeship as Post Doctorate at the Czech Technical University in Prague (Czech Republic) in 2014. His research interests cover innovation technologies, including the methods of manufacturing for the digital industry, processing with intense energy fluxes (technologies using plasma, laser, and detonation sources), additive and subtractive manufacturing technologies, applied computing techniques.

There is a steady trend in the mechanical engineering industry to increase the required accuracy of parts manufacturing using high-speed equipment. The control of such equipment requires consideration of the motion differential characteristics such as velocity, acceleration, and jerk. However, due to the discrete nature of the incremental encoder operating as a pulse generator, estimation of these characteristics requires the use of special data processing methods. Considered encoder resolution limitations and proposed a method for determining the discreteness providing the maximum possible accuracy of position measurement. Discussed methods of the velocity estimation using incremental encoders. Determined the required sampling frequency of the time counter. The use of CNC-based software and hardware complex for the study of the velocity estimation methods is proposed. Results of experimental investigations confirm the possibility of acceleration estimation and demonstrate problems with jerk estimation. Analysis of the error sources in the measurement of differential characteristics is performed. Topical areas for further research is proposed.

– Many modern technological processes are implemented at high speeds of the machine tool operating bodies relative to the workpieces. With significant dimensions of the processed parts, rack-and-gear drives are used. The design features of the rack-and-gear drive require coordination of the servo drive with the machine operating bodies movement speeds using a gearbox. This paper considers the possibility of creating a gear-belt gearbox for drives of high-speed equipment. The applied gearbox should not cause additional errors in the movement process. The work carried out experimental investigations of a servomotor dynamic characteristics and the qualitative characteristics of measuring encoders, the gearbox influence on the displacement error, machine tool axis movement. The dynamic characteristics of a servomotor without load, assembled with a gearbox and as part of a controlled axis of a portal-type machine have been investigated. It is determined that the delay time of the movement start is no more than 0.002 s for a servomotor without load and as part of a gearbox, and the delay time of the movement start of the gearbox output shaft does not exceed 0.003 s. It has been determined that the maximum possible acceleration of the controlled bodies of the machine during using the considered drive is 8 m/s 2 . The dynamic error of the axis movement along a straight trajectory does not exceed 0.023 mm, and along a circular trajectory – 0.035 mm. The error of position determining for the operating body is no more than ±1 discrete. This indicates that the gearbox error is less than the error of the position measurement system used in the investigated machine.

Improving the accuracy, reliability, and performance of cyber-physical systems such as high-speed machining, laser cutting, welding and cladding etc. is one of the most pressing challenges in modern industry. CNC system carries out data processing and significantly affect on accuracy of operation such equipment. The paper considers the problem of controlled axes motion differential characteristics data processing in the internal representation of the discrete space of the CNC system. Equations for determining the required discreteness of the differential characteristics position and resolution, such as the speed, acceleration, and jerk are proposed. For the most widely used CNC equipment specific discreteness and resolution values have been determined.

For urban water supply networks promising direction is the use of composite pipes with special properties, such as fiberglass. The characteristics of composite products are set by reinforcement schemes and the use of various binders. The stability of the strength characteristics significantly depends on the stability of the process of winding the reinforcing fibers. The kinematic scheme of the equipment realizes the rotation of the winding unit around the axis of the cross-section of the mandrel and the longitudinal-angular movement of the mandrel of the winding unit, which provides the possibility of cylindrical and spiral winding of the tape. The investigation of the nature of the variation in motion parameters for various programming methods has been carried out. The application of the developed equipment in the manufacturing of fiberglass bends is shown.
