Development of intelligent energy storage system for preventing large current drawn during dynamic loads Arpan Dwivedi, Vishal Moyal, Rajkumar Jhapte, Shailendra Verma, Vikesh Kumar, et al. Journal of Integrated Science and Technology, 2025 Due to the shortcomings of heterogeneous energy storage systems in delivering dependable, sustained power to dynamic loads, this paper presents the idea of an intelligent energy storage system (IESS). Battery storage systems age more quickly when dynamic loads, like DC or induction motors, draw high currents when they first start up. The abrupt energy requirements of these loads can be satisfied by incorporating an ultra capacitor with battery blocks, avoiding undue battery strain. The study suggests an experimental strategy to investigate the benefits of an IESS that stores energy produced by a standalone photovoltaic (PV) system by combining a battery and an ultra capacitor. Three distinct load scenarios are used to test this hybrid system's performance, and the outcomes are confirmed. A prototype setup is developed to compare the input and output voltage and current of the inverter with and without ultra capacitor batteries. A prototype configuration comprising a PV module, converter, control unit, and load is created. The results indicate that the ultracapacitor optimizes battery performance and reduces the drain rate by about 20-25%. The capacity of the ultra capacitor could be increased to further minimize battery drain.
Exploring the synergy of artificial intelligence for integrated smart energy systems in electric vehicles A. S. Telang, G. S. Gadge, D. A. Shahakar, Y. Pahariya Power System Management Advances and Applications, 2025 The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) for smart energy systems in electric vehicles (EVs) has become a key solution to improving energy efficiency, mitigating battery degradation, and optimizing power management. AI systems offer practical advantages over theoretical models, making them highly applicable in various fields. The vast amounts of data available today allow AI to predict the behavior of complex systems with remarkable accuracy. As we strive for a more sustainable future, the integration of smart energy systems in EVs and AI are critical areas that must be addressed. The synergy between AI and integrated smart energy systems in EVs not only enhances the overall efficiency of EVs but also plays a vital role in developing a sustainable and intelligent energy ecosystem. To demonstrate how these technologies help to prolong battery life, optimize energy use, and lower overall operating costs, this research investigates the importance of AI advancements in energy storage systems for EVs, specifically focusing on battery management systems (BMS) and exploring the potential for optimization algorithms for charge and discharge cycles in BMS in AI-integrated smart energy systems in EVs.

Voltage regulation using three phase electric spring by fuzzy logic controller A. Ikhe, Y. Pahariya Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics, 2023 Introduction. The renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power have increased significantly in recent years. However, as the generation of renewable energy has become more integrated, its intermission and instability have a major impact on the power system’s stability, such as voltage instability and frequency flicker. Purpose. In order to address the different power quality issues brought on by intermittent and unreliable renewable energy sources, electric spring offers a novel solution. It was proposed as a technique for regulating load and adjusting output power. For the integration of electric springs with noncritical loads, a contemporary control mechanism is described in this paper. Novelty. The suggested work is innovative in that it presents an improved control technique that efficiently maintains voltage stability as voltage changes. Method. The proposed technique is based on an analysis of the initial conditions and input data for developing fuzzy rules for calculating compensating voltages in relation to the difficulties. Results. This suggested fuzzy controller will be able to maintain the regular operation of the electric spring of power output control stability as well as continuing to provide power factor improvement and voltage control for significant loads, including the home’s protection system. Practical value. A detailed study of typical voltage regulation is undertaken, supported by simulation results, to demonstrate the effectiveness of the applied control scheme in cancelling the corresponding issues with power quality.
