The paper presents materials on the development of universal automatic control system of technological processes of product machining on a lathe, including the following developments: 1) schematic and structural diagram of the universal automatic system, which allows controlling technological processes by two mode parameters- tool advance and cutting speed; 2) mathematical models of elements and the whole system; 3) experimental bench and experimental procedure; 4) experimental results proving the effectiveness of the developed automatic system. The developed automatic system can be easily reconfigured for two types of machining: finishing and roughing.
