IMC Based Tuning of PID Controller for Closed Loop Control of BLDC Motor Jahnavi Sanathana, Swathi Bathula, Dola Gobinda Padhan, D S Naga Malleswara Rao, V. Vijaya Rama Raju 2024 IEEE 4th International Conference on Sustainable Energy and Future Electric Transportation Sefet 2024, 2024 The demand for efficient and precise control of Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors has grown significantly in various industrial applications. Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controllers are ideally employed in closed-loop control systems for their simplicity and effectiveness. However, tuning PID controllers for optimal performance in BLDC motor control systems can be a complex task due to the inherent nonlinearity and dynamic characteristics of these motors. This research proposes an Internal Model Control (IMC) based tuning approach for PID controllers applied to closed-loop control of BLDC motors. The IMC method is known for its ability to handle processes ith time delays and significant dynamics. By incorporating IMC principles into the PID tuning process, a more robust and adaptive controller is achieved, enhancing the overall performance of the BLDC motor control system.
Control System Engineering through MATLAB-A Case Study on Project based Learning Satyabrata Sahoo, V. Mahesh, Bharath Kumar Narukullapati, Idamakanti Kasireddy, Dola Gobinda Padhan, D S Naga Malleswara Rao 2nd Edition of IEEE Delhi Section Owned Conference Delcon 2023 Proceedings, 2023 Now a day, teacher centric approach in engineering education is gradually replaced with the new student centric pedagogy through active learning technique. This paper presents an effective and wide spread active learning process i.e. Project Based Learning (PBL) for control system engineering subject of electrical and electronics engineering discipline through MATLAB. Presently it is very difficult to attract the student’s attention towards the core theory subject. Here through Project Based Learning with MATLAB implementation we want to enhance the students’ performance overall. In this learning methodology, students are able to learn by implementing and interacting with each other. The objective of this paper is to enable the students for team work, problem solving ability, and leadership quality. Finally the student’s outcome of this project based learning is implemented through student’s feedback and internal assessment through presentation and mid examination.
Home Security System Based on Facial Recognition Dola Gobinda Padhan, Sai Nikhila Varma, Venkateshwari C, Marakala Divya, Suguna Manasa, B Pakkiraiah 2023 IEEE 3rd International Conference on Sustainable Energy and Future Electric Transportation Sefet 2023, 2023 Security systems serve the major functions of protection and safety. Home security is a major predicament in today's world. It is proven that facial recognition, which is a relatively new technology, is the most efficient way of providing security. The high-end security systems used today are very expensive and use biometrics like fingerprint or iris scanners. These systems require additional equipment for recognition which can be replaced by a simple camera while using facial recognition. Our project is aimed at creating an efficient security system incorporating the concepts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to implement facial recognition. Histograms of Oriented Gradients is the algorithm used for facial recognition. The usage of doorbells is also uprooted to attain a more automated approach to detecting the presence of someone at the door by using facial detection. The above goals are carried out with the use of OpenCV, Imutils and Dlib libraries in Python, with a Raspberry Pi as the processing unit of the security system. The door lock, controlled by a stepper motor, operates immediately once the person detected is recognized. Application of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) is also incorporated in the situation when the detected person is not recognized.
Comparative Analysis between Fuzzy and PR controller in Single-Phase H bridge Inverters by Power Decoupling Strategy Dola Gobindha Padhan, Dogga Raveendhra, Satyabrata Sahoo, V. Mahesh 2022 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Energy and Future Electric Transportation Sefet 2022, 2022 The performance analysis of Fuzzy and PR controllers for single phase H bridge inverters is presented in this paper. In this method only two decoupling capacitors are used which transfer power ripple towards this decoupling capacitor not effecting the output voltage of the inverter. The key role in this paper is that we are not using any extra power semiconductors devices except the H Bridge. The regulation of load current is one of the most important aspects of inverter control. The fuzzy controller has drawbacks such as regular upgrades are needed, dependent on human intelligence etc. In order to overcome this drawbacks PR controller is used. Performance analysis of fuzzy controller has been carried out in this study by simulation and compared with PR controller. Moreover, total harmonic distortion (THD) of the PR controller was less compared by the fuzzy controller. MATLAB/Simulink is used to test the system performance.
A Beam Steering Dielectric Resonator Antenna Designed Using Rogers RO4003C Material for S-Band Applications Manisha Kumari, Tavanam Venkata Rao, S. Arun Jayakar, D. Srinivas, Dola Gobinda Padhan, A. Kishore Reddy, P. Rahul Reddy, Amanuel Diriba Tura Advances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2022 A pattern reconfigurable dielectric resonator antenna emitting at 3.1 GHz is presented in this study. The beam can be steered at 6 degrees, 8 degrees, 14 degrees, and 171 degrees. Three P-i-N diodes are employed in the slots of the ground plane to help steer the beam direction. By changing the state of the three diodes, five states can be obtained. The TE01δ mode is excited using a differential feed technique. Differential feed helps in increasing the gain and reducing the size of the structure. The return loss of each state is less than −25 dB. The gain of the first state is 7.65 dBi, the second and fifth state’s gain is 8.22 dBi, third and fourth state’s gain is 10.6 dBi. This Antenna is designed using Rogers RO4003C material which has low Electrical gravity, low voltage, and high oxidation resistance that makes it appropriate for RF applications. The properties required for RF microwave circuits, matching networks, and controlled impedance transmission lines are present in the RO4003C material. Annealed copper is used for designing the ground plane and feedline which provides excellent conductivity. The antenna is fabricated using the chemical etching process which employs a positive photoresist that gives a higher resolution accuracy for the designed antenna. This process of fabrication has another advantage of inculcating structures from simpler to complex.
A Fuzzy Controlled LCC HVDC System with AC Voltage and Reactive Power Control More Anusha, Dola Gobinda Padhan, D. Karuna Kumar E3s Web of Conferences, 2021 The main work focus is on the LCC HVDC reactive power control system with fluid regulated AC voltage. The reactive power and the voltage control capacity of LCC HVDC were examined and demonstrated with controlled condensers. Reactive power control and voltage management have been suggested and associated controllers with variable condensers have been developed on the reverse side of the fuzzy controlled LCC HVDC system. The active corrective side power control is required and a reactive or voltage control has been taken into account in this work. This study looks at the inverter side of the system LCC HVDC with customizable capacitors, reactive power and fluid management of the AC voltage. The usual AC voltage control and PI controller for reactive power is replaced by an injected controller that enhances reaction speed and control. In the MATLAB software with Sim-Power system toolbox, graphs are created using a GUI environment to model the proposed fuzzy-controlled HVDC system.
