Internet of things enabled landfill pollution gas monitoring Mochammad Junus, David Fydo Putradi, Farida Arinie Soelistianto, Mohammad Abdullah Anshori, Rizky Ardiansyah Indonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, 2025 Due to the increasing concern on how to manage wastes and ensure environmental safety across the globe, a new tool that assists in the monitoring of methane, humidity, and temperature in the landfill using internet of things (IoT) has been created. This system uses ESP32 microcontroller and MQ-4 and DHT-22 sensors to measure environmental conditions at three different spots in a landfill. The samples of data are collected at three times a day, that is, in the morning at 7:00 am, at midday at 12:00 pm and in the evening at 5:00 pm and the data is transmitted to an online sheet where the public can access it in real time hence increasing transparency in the management of wastes. The tool shows a very good precision and effectiveness and the parameters are 94. 6% data integrity over three months testing period. The first findings show that the mean methane concentration is the highest at midday, which is related to the temperature and underlines the role of temperature in the methane emission process. The presented IoT based monitoring system also enhances the accuracy and efficiency in the monitoring of landfill gas and at the same time reduces the intervention of human effort and increases the capability to make prompt adjustments to changes in the environment. Used as an instrument for obtaining accurate and easily understandable data, it is hoped that this tool will in some way help to enhance global environmental health and safety standards, and help pave a way for methane storage for renewable energy purposes.
Design and Development of a Micro Inverter Power Monitoring System to Enhance Photovoltaic System Performance by Integrating LoRaWAN and IoT Elga Aris Prastyo, Mochamad Junus, Erfan Rohadi E3s Web of Conferences, 2024 This research examines the significance of utilizing Photovoltaic Solar Power Systems (PVSPS) with Micro Inverters and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, particularly LoRaWAN, in addressing challenges related to efficiency and power management. PVSPS has emerged as a leading solution to tackle the increasing global energy consumption and the adverse effects of greenhouse gas emissions. The rapid growth of the PVSPS industry underscores its relevance. This study explores the impact of shading on solar panels connected in series and parallel configurations, emphasizing the importance of proper placement. The results indicate that shading significantly reduces energy production, especially in panels connected in series. Micro Inverters play a crucial role in maintaining stable output voltage, even under shading conditions. However, attention must be paid to their influence on output current. Efficient monitoring and management of PVSPS through IoT technology such as LoRaWAN are key in supporting the transition to sustainable energy. This data underscores the importance of continuous monitoring to identify issues and optimize PVSPS performance, in the face of environmental challenges and climate change.
Post-Stroke Range of Motion Measurement Tool with Black Box Boundary Value Analysis Testing Lis Mustafa, Yoyok Prasetyo, M Syirajuddin, M Junus, Alvindha F, et al. Jordan Journal of Electrical Engineering, 2024 Stroke is the second cause of death and the third cause of disability in the world. One of the treatments for post-stroke patients is physiotherapy. This treatment is expensive and requires mobility. Additionally, the level of adherence of post-stroke patients in carrying out physiotherapy also influences the effectiveness of healing. Therefore, this research proposes a new tool - named “the Post-Stroke Range of Motion (ROM) Measurement Tool with Black Box Boundary Value Analysis Testing – for physiotherapy telemonitoring of post stroke patients. This tool is designed on the left hand for measuring the ROM with the integration of MPU6050, MAX30102, and Flex sensors connected to ESP WROOM 32. This study uses a quantitative research type with a laboratory and field experimental method approach. The flex sensor was tested by measuring the minimum and maximum resistance values, which are converted into straight (0<11), bending (11<46), and fully bending (46<90), and the software was tested using the Black Box Boundary Value Analysis method. The outcomes unveil that the proposed system - with its various features - has the potential to be widely applied, and readily utilized by patients in physiotherapy rehabilitation exercise at home.

In Malang, Indonesia, a techno-economic analysis of hybrid energy systems in public buildings Mochammad Junus, Marjono Marjono, Aulanni’am Aulanni’am, Slamet Wahyudi Bulletin of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, 2022 Because of the fickle nature of the renewable sources of energy production, professionals in this sector have developed hybrid renewable energy systems (HRES) that offer a constant and stable load supply. This research intends to build off-grid hybrid energy systems (HES) in Malang, Indonesia, that uses a solar generator, wind turbine, and biogas to power public buildings. The HOMER program was used to construct this model. Following the computations, multiple hybrid renewable energy system models are used to analyze each component’s capital cost and also cost of energy (COE). Furthermore, energy output, gas emissions, and a thermoeconomic assessment of several HRES models have been explored. Two ideal HRES models were evaluated: one with a biogas generator and one without. According to the research, employing a generator of biogas would reduce fuel consumption and emissions by 68.3%. This HRES model is impressive in light of Malang’s severe air pollution. Switching from diesel to biogas generator decreases NPC by 6.84%, according to the data.
Wireless Sensor Network for Energy Monitoring Based on Hybrid Power Plants AH Buildings Mochammad Junus, Septriandi Wirayoga, S. Amartya Putri Proceedings Ieit 2022 2022 International Conference on Electrical and Information Technology, 2022 The use of electrical energy is very important in everyday life. Especially during a pandemic like today, where more activities are carried out online and require a source of electrical energy. Therefore, a system of energy sources is needed to meet the intake of these needs, such as wind power plants and solar power plants. Utilization of wind power as a renewable energy source that has a relatively affordable price can be an alternative to replace electrical energy in the Malang State Polytechnic environment. Meanwhile, the use of solar power sources or solar panels is commonly used by the community. However, the energy obtained from this source is always up and down so that it can cause overcharge. To overcome this, it is proposed to develop an energy switching system based on the results of monitoring from both sources. In this research, a prototype of a switching device for electrical energy generated by wind turbines and solar panels will be designed and built using a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) which is then connected to a microcontroller to obtain the desired data. Each node will be given a wireless transmitting device to send data to the server so that it can be viewed in the database and the web in real time. The results of the research show that the use of smart charging is able to maintain the condition of the battery properly and is able to optimally charge the battery capacity based on the method used and Comparing 2 different network topologies used in the Wireless sensor network designed to find out which is the most optimal in the system created.

Wireless Sensor Network for Monitoring Windmills at State Polytechnic of Malang Mochammad Junus, Rieke Adriati Wijayanti, Nurul Hidayati Proceedings Ieit 2021 1st International Conference on Electrical and Information Technology, 2021 Currently, electricity demand has become the main commodity. One of the electricity supplies is still using Electric Stream Power Plant (PLTU) which requires limited coal fuel. Wind power as a new source of electricity is a renewable energy alternative to electrical energy, so it can be used as a long-term investment. In this study, we purpose prototype of the electrical energy monitoring tool from windmills using a dedicated of sensors that can monitor and retrieve data in a network as the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). In this way, the parameters like voltage, windmill rotation speed and wind speed get real-time monitored easily on the webpage. If the results of monitoring these parameters are known, then the appropriate energy consumption and electrical load can be planned.
