Hybrid optimization algorithm for analysis of influence propagation in social network Akshata Sandeep Bhayyar, Kiran Purushotham International Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2025 Influence maximization(IM) is defined as the problem of identifying a node subset in a social network which increases the spread of influence. IM plays a crucial role in social networks by catalyzing the dissemination of influence, resulting in an augmented count of influenced nodes following the propagation process. The existing researches mainly concentrated on increasing the spread of influence, but did not consider the running time of the network. In this manuscript, the salp swarm algorithm (SSA) and bi-adaptive strategy particle swarm optimization (BiAS-PSO) algorithms are integrated and named as SS-BiAS-PSO algorithm to increase the spread of influence based on the IM problem to minimize the running time of the network. The datasets utilized for the research are Ego-Facebook, Epinions, Gowalla, and HepTh, while linear threshold (LT) is utilized as a diffusion method. Then, the proposed SS-BiAS-PSO algorithm is deployed for the analysis of influence propagation. The proposed algorithm reaches a high influence spread of 645, 680, 715, and 750 with less running times respectively for 10, 20, 30, and 40 seed set sizes in Ego-Facebook. The proposed algorithm proves more effective than the existing techniques like traditional SSA and particle swarm optimization (PSO).
IcedID Malware: A Comprehensive Review of Its Techniques, Impact and Countermeasures Yashaswini Nag M N, Kiran P, Dhanraj, Alkama Eqbal, Yash Maurya, et al. Proceedings of 2025 International Conference on Computing for Sustainability and Intelligent Future Comp Sif 2025, 2025 As the internet grows, it is more vulnerable to attacks and threats. The system might be attacked with virus, worms and malwares. There are many types of malwares on the internet today and the number keeps on increasing. One of the most threatful malware existing on the internet is IcedID malware. This IcedID malware is a sophisticated malware that is designed to steal sensitive information like personal data, bank account details and many more from the victim's system. This paper gives a comprehensive review over IcedID malware, its techniques, impact and countermeasures. The malware tricks the users using web injection which injects HTML or JavaScripts to exfiltrate the credentials of the user. The countermeasures for this malware are employee training, endpoint security, having secure email, multi-factor authentication and, constant monitoring of network and system logs.
Enhancing video anomaly detection for human suspicious behavior through deep hybrid temporal spatial network Kusuma Sriram, Kiran Purushotham Iaes International Journal of Artificial Intelligence, 2024 Abnormal behavior exhibited by individuals with particular intentions is common, and when such behavior occurs in public places, it can cause physical and mental harm to others. Considering the rise in the automated approach for anomaly detection in videos, accuracy becomes essential. Most existing models follow a deep learning architecture, which faces challenges due to variations in motion. This research work develops a deep learning based hybrid architecture with temporal and spatial features. The hybrid temporal spatial network (HTSNet) consists of two customized architectures: a graph neural network (GNN) and a convolutional neural network (CNN). HTSNet combined with a novel classifier to extract features and classify normal and abnormal behavior. The performance of HTSNet is rigorously evaluated using the University of California, San Diego-Pedestrian 1 (UCSD Ped1) dataset, a benchmark in computer vision research for anomaly detection in video surveillance. The effectiveness of HTSNet is demonstrated through a comparative analysis with current state-of-the-art methods, using the area under the curve (AUC) metric as a standard measure of performance. This paper contributes to the advancement of video surveillance technology, providing a robust framework for enhancing public safety and security in an increasingly digital world.
Graph neural network based human detection in videos during occlusion environments Kusuma Sriram, Kiran Purushotham International Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2024 One of the most difficult perceptual problems for many applications is accurately recognizing the human object in a variety of circumstances. This can be difficult due to obstructions, weather, complex backdrops, cast shadows, and occlusions. Occlusion is a challenging open problem where a detector can only perceive a portion of the target human because of obstacles in the surrounding. In this research, an experimental investigation was conducted using the multi object tracking (MOT17) datasets to construct a graph neural network-based solution for the detection of humans in videos while considering the possibility of occlusion. Graph neural network (GNN) is used for the construction of neural solver model for detecting human object in occlusion scenario. The results obtained shows that this proposed method offers a considerable improvement in efficiency in comparison to the ways that have been used in the past. The values obtained for the standard performance metrics are higher than the state-of-the-art methods.
Analysing Perception of Credibility of a Message in Online Social Network using SmartPLS Akshata S Bhayyar, P Kiran Indiscon 2024 5th IEEE India Council International Subsections Conference Science Technology and Society, 2024 Nowadays online social networks are used to share information, but analyzing the information’s credibility is imperative. The study’s primary goal is to examine how 3 factors influence users’ acceptance of messages in online social networks. 1. content likeability: which is a method of assessing the information value of social media content, 2. content legitimacy: the dissemination of false information poses a serious risk to our democracy since it can erode public confidence in reliable news sources, and 3. social media involvement: for many people, social media is their main source of information because it is a pervasive and ubiquitous digital communication tool. we use the dataset from Credibility Coalition which is a research community that promotes cooperative methods for comprehending the accuracy, reliability, and trustworthiness of online information, which is the cornerstone of civil society. Furthermore, the content credibility is analyzed using SmartPLS software, here sets of observable variables are used to measure the credibility of messages.
Multiple object tracking using space-time adaptive correlation tracking Kusuma Sriram, Kiran Purushotham Indonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, 2023 <span>In application of tracking and detecting the suspicious activities, multiple object tracking (MOT) has been given fine attention due to its application as it provides the parallel task of identification and tracking of human. MOT ensures the identification and trajectory for each object frame as they interact, despite the changes in its appearance, occlusion and various other tasks involved. Recent adoption of deep learning has given a new perspective but still achieving high metrics remains a major issue to overcome such issues, this research work presents the integrated architecture of deep convolutional covariance networks (DCCNs) and space-time adaptive correlation tracking (STACT) algorithm with similarity map function (SMF). Moreover, in proposed work, DCCNs is utilized for feature extractions through each frame capturing the distinctive information, STACT is tracking approaches that utilizes the SMF for locating and tracking objects. SMFs are updated for any changes in human appearances and motion, also it deals with occlusion. Here the proposed model is evaluated on MOT17 and MOT20 dataset. Performance analysis is carried out through comparing the existing model and Integrated-DCCN achieves higher metrics.</span>
Intelligent Based System to Identify Malpractice in Assignment/Internals Using Document Comparison Technique Kiran P, Anjan Kumar K N, Hemanth S, Sampada K S 7th IEEE International Conference on Computational Systems and Information Technology for Sustainable Solutions Csitss 2023 Proceedings, 2023 Documents are usually collected for evaluation from students. These documents require extensive scrutiny from instructor in assigning the marks. Document similarity technique can be used for identifying the initial level of malpractice. Proposed model uses three algorithms Jaccard index, TF -IDF and Doc2Vec for identification. Doc2Vec proves to be more accurate that the other two. There is a tradeoff between execution time and similarity index. Results indicate that based on the requirement all the three algorithms can be used. In this paper we have also mentioned the threshold that can be used for identifying malpractice.
