Factors influencing work motivation to sustainable goals of the service oriented small and medium enterprises: A comparative analysis between socio-demographic factors and the tools of human resource policies and strategies Serena Aktar, A S M Shahabuddin European Journal of Sustainable Development Research, 2026 Objectives: This study aimed to identify the most influential factor in increasing employees' work motivation for the sustainable growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Bangladesh, which helps to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Methodology: The investigation requires both primary and secondary data sources. The primary data was collected using a basic random sampling procedure. The survey used a structured questionnaire to collect primary data from employees at various levels. SPSS was used for descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression analysis, as well as AMOS for path analysis.
Results: The study revealed that HR policies and strategies are more influential factors compared to socio-demographic factors. Among the five tools of human resource policies and strategies, participation in decision-making is the most influential factor for boosting employees' work motivation to achieve the sustainable goals of the service-oriented small firms. Job experience is the most influential factor in increasing work motivation among the five socio-demographic factors.
A comprehensive study on sustainable entrepreneurship for cottage, micro, small, and medium enterprises in Bangladesh Serena Aktar, A. N. M. Jahangir Kabir European Journal of Sustainable Development Research, 2024 The present study aims at identifying dominant factors for sustainable entrepreneurship for cottage, micro, small, and medium enterprises (CMSMEs) in Bangladesh. For the convenience of study EFA and CFA models were developed for analyzing, identifying, and confirming the factors harbouring sustainable CMSMEs. Four factors were considered and analyzed such as sources of funds and loans, the opportunity to sell the products, the background of entrepreneurs, and governmental support to examine the extent to which they contribute to entrepreneurial sustainability. The study reports that three factors (sources of funds and loans, the opportunity to sell the products, and governmental support) have a significant and positive effect on the sustainability of CMSMEs entrepreneurship, and these could be considered as an indicative to achieving sustainable entrepreneurship for CMSMEs in a market environment.
