Thiazoline plays essential role in the biosynthesis of thiamine (vitamin B1) and is synthesized in living organisms. Thiophane is a key structural motif in various biologically active natural products, while thiazole is widely prevalent in antimicrobial peptides and antibiotics. The biological evaluation aspect explores the diverse pharmacological activities of these compounds. Thus, the chapter features insights into synthesis and biological activities of these moieties, provides a valuable resource for researchers in medicinal chemistry and chemical biology.
Functionalized Gold Nanoparticles Enable Colorimetric Biosensing of Pesticides for Advanced Applications: Detection of Pesticides Using Functionalized Gold Nanoparticles Keyur D. Bhatt, Nandan C. Pomal, Dhruvansh Patni, Nihal Patel Demystifying the Complexities of Supramolecular Systems Real World Applications, 2025 The growing use of pesticides in agriculture poses significant risks to food safety and environmental health. Traditional detection methods are accurate but require complex instruments and skilled personnel. Biosensing approaches using functionalized gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) have emerged as rapid, cost-effective, and portable alternatives. This mini-review explores the synthesis, surface modification, and characterization of AuNPs, emphasizing their surface plasmon resonance (SPR) properties for colorimetric biosensing. Pesticide exposure induces aggregation of ligand-functionalized AuNPs, leading to visible color changes detectable without advanced equipment. Recent studies demonstrate the successful detection of pesticides such as paraquat, glyphosate, and deltamethrin across diverse matrices. These biosensors offer advantages like visual output, simplicity, and fast response. Despite some limitations, functionalized AuNPs show strong potential for developing efficient biosensing systems, supporting safer agriculture and environmental monitoring.
Multifunctional Calix[4]Pyrrole Derivatives: Optimized Synthesis and a Dual-Action Study Targeting Tuberculosis and Oxidative Stress Nirali Parmar, Keyur Bhatt, Jaymin Parikh, Nihal Patel Polycyclic Aromatic Compounds, 2025 The ongoing challenge of multidrug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis underscores the urgent need for new therapeutic agents that address both tuberculosis (TB) and associated oxidative stress. This study explores the synthesis and bioactivity of six novel calix[4]pyrrole derivatives fused with amino acids, using an optimized HATU and DIPEA-mediated coupling method to enhance yield and stability. These derivatives were subsequently assessed for their antitubercular and antioxidant activities. By incorporating amino acids, particularly aromatic ones, into the calix[4]pyrrole framework, the study aims to investigate their potential as dual-function therapeutic candidates for managing TB and oxidative stress-related complications.

Microbes and Nanoconjugated Assistants for Sensing and Detecting Pollutants in Wastewater Keyur Bhatt, Jaymin Parikh, Krunal Modi, Brij Mohan Nano Bioremediation for Wastewater Treatment, 2025 Environmental monitoring has seen a revolutionary advancement with the integration of microbes and nano-conjugated assistants. This innovative method dramatically enhances the sensing and detection of pollutants in wastewater by leveraging the synergy between microbial organisms and advanced nanomaterials. Microbes, with their unique metabolic activities, act as biological sensors that respond to the presence of pollutants. Nanoconjugated assistants further enhance this process by providing improved signal transduction and sensitivity. The combination of these elements not only enables real-time monitoring but also increases the selectivity and efficiency of pollutant detection. The use of nanomaterials offers a high surface area for interaction, ensuring optimal sensitivity even at low pollutant concentrations. Additionally, this integrated sensing system extends beyond conventional pollutants, effectively detecting a diverse range of contaminants. The development of this symbiotic relationship between microbes and nanomaterials holds great promise for addressing the growing challenges of water pollution. This chapter explores the methodologies, advancements, and potential applications of microbes and nanoconjugated assistant sensing in wastewater management, presenting a paradigm shift in environmental monitoring and sustainable water resource utilization.
