  • Design and Analysis of HF Band Vehicular Antenna for Military Applications
Dipak P Patil, Amit Kumar Mishra, Svetlin Antonov, Akhilesh Kumar
60th International Scientific Conference on Information Communication and Energy Systems and Technologies Icest 2025 Proceedings, 2025
Modern communication systems rely significantly on antennas, as they facilitate signal transmission and reception across a broad frequency range. The proposed antenna operates within the High-Frequency (HF) band, where signals are reflected off the ionosphere, making it particularly suitable for secure military applications. Given its frequency range in the MHz spectrum, the antenna is applicable for both data and voice transmission. This study incorporates the concept of Near Vertical Incidence Skywave (NVIS) communication, which minimizes the distance between the antenna and its coverage area. The inclusion of NVIS enables efficient signal transmission and reception through the transmitting antenna. The simulation of the HF Band Vehicular Antenna with NVIS communication is conducted using software tools such as CST, NEC2, and HFSS. Two types of antennas are analyzed: (i) Monopole Antenna and (ii) Dipole Antenna. Key performance parameters, including gain, bandwidth, and efficiency, are evaluated. Finally, a comparison of the simulated results with theoretical values reveals that the simulated parameters closely align with their theoretical counterparts, validating the effectiveness of the proposed design.
  • Health detection system for COVID19 patients using IoT
Dipak P. Patil, Kishor Badane, Amit Kumar Mishra, Vishal A. Wankhede
Medical Imaging and Health Informatics, 2022
Currently, the entire planet is terrified of a virus known as COVID-19 (coronavirus). Its effects are so deadly that the whole world has been placed on lockdown. Vaccines for this virus are being developed by scientists and physicians all over the world. Machine learning, the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence all play a role in detecting people who have been affected by coronavirus. We have also operated in this direction and developed a system called “Health Detection System for COVID-19 Patients using IoT” which can identify coronavirus-infected people and create a database for easy monitoring. Our system named as “Health Detection System for COVID-19 Patients using IoT” can detect corona by measuring the temperature and oxygen level of the patient. The system will detect the temperature of person with the help of DHT sensor and the oxygen level with the help of MAX30100, which are interfaced with NodeMCU. Data will be uploaded on ThingSpeak server (cloud) through which it can be monitored. The system is quite simple and very effective, especially at the hospital (ICU) where doctors can monitor patient from a distant place. Complete system cost around Rs 1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only).
  • Real time emotion detection from speech using Raspberry Pi 3
Amit Mishra, Dipak Patil, Nikhil Karkhanis, Vaishnavi Gaikar, Kadambari Wani
Proceedings of the 2017 International Conference on Wireless Communications Signal Processing and Networking Wispnet 2017, 2017
In the past decade, a lot of research has gone into Speech Emotion Recognition. The primary objective of Speech Emotion Recognition is to improve man-machine interface. It can also be used to monitor the psycho physiological state of a person in lie detectors. In recent time, speech emotion recognition also finds its applications in medicine and forensics. It can also be used to recognize different emotions like sad, happy, angry, fear, etc. Basically, it can be used to detect positive and negative emotions. This project mainly focuses on using a DSP processor (Raspberry Pi 3) to recognize the emotions through speech. It can also be implemented using complete software that is MATLAB. DSP has many advantages and features and is basically used by programming it in Python. This project mainly focuses on comparing the implementation through hardware and software. The easiest way to compare is through efficiency and many other features.
