Ricardo Gomez-Nieto
Ricardo Gómez-Nieto is a permanent professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Pathology at the University of Salamanca. His research career includes work at prominent U.S. institutions like the University of Utah and the University of Connecticut, as well as the multinational pharmaceutical company Merck Animal Health. He currently focuses on neuroscience research, specifically on the acoustic startle reflex, middle ear reflex, and the study of epilepsy with a preclinical model of audiogenic seizures. Beyond his research, he directs the University Master's Degree in "Communication Disorders: Neuroscience of Hearing and Language" and and is a key member of leading research groups on audiomotor disorders and brain plasticity at the Biomedical Research Institute of Salamanca (IBSAL) and the Institute of Neurosciences of Castile and León (INCYL).
