  • Investigating The Factors Behind Women Entrepreneurs’ Unsustainable Progress in Health Care Sector
Radha Thangarajan, Selvaveera Kumar, Raji N.
    Journal of Neonatal Surgery, 2025
Achieving sustainable economic growth has been a key goal for developing nations like India since independence. Empowering women, especially in rural areas, is vital for achieving parity with urban regions. Despite various developmental schemes and policies by the Government of India to promote women entrepreneurs, sustainable growth for rural women entrepreneurs remains elusive. This study examines the factors contributing to volatility in their growth, focusing on 180 rural women entrepreneurs registered under Tamil Nadu MSME, selected from Virudhunagar district through stratified random sampling. Data was collected via a questionnaire and personal interviews. Findings reveal that while entrepreneurial engagement among rural women is rising, it does not align with proportional economic growth due to challenges such as resource inaccessibility, demographic constraints, lack of skills, education, and awareness. Beyond policy-making, the government must ensure these initiatives effectively reach rural areas to enable sustainable growth and strengthen the rural economy.
