  • An algorithmic approach to signed fuzzy graph integrity: Complexity, graph operations, and metro rail network applications

    Ain Shams Engineering Journal, 2025
This paper presents an algorithm to compute the integrity of a signed fuzzy graph by systematically evaluating vertex subsets, removing them, and analyzing the resulting connected components. Integrity is determined by computing the minimum sum of the fuzzy membership of the removed subset and the maximum fuzzy order among the remaining components. Additionally, this study explores the vertex integrity of signed fuzzy graphs under operations such as union, Cartesian product, and join. Integrity results for special graph operations are derived and illustrated with examples. The corona and pendant operations on signed fuzzy graphs are also introduced, along with their structural properties. Understanding graph integrity is essential for assessing network resilience, particularly in transportation systems. The proposed framework is applied to metro rail networks to demonstrate its practical significance in ensuring operational efficiency. Integrity values are computed using computational tools, providing insights into network robustness and failure resilience.
  • Optimizing Phasor Measurement Units Placement in Power Networks Using Betweenness Centrality
    Saravanan M
Communications on Applied Nonlinear Analysis, 2025
Introduction: Centrality concepts play a crucial role in determining the significance of a vertex based on its necessity. A network always prefers the shortest path, also known as the geodesic path, for information transmission between nodes. Betweenness centrality, which reduces geodesic distance, makes it easier to strategically position phasor measurement units (PMUs) in a power network. We present a research paper that describes an algorithm specifically designed for PMU placement in power networks. The algorithm's performance is assessed by running it on the widely used IEEE 14 and IEEE 30 buses, allowing for comparison with results obtained using other methodologies.
  • Brain Network Analysis Through Span Integrity of Fuzzy Graphs
    R. Sujatha, M. Saravanan, R. Sundareswaran
New Mathematics and Natural Computation, 2023
Spanness of fuzzy graph is introduced. By spanness, a new vulnerability parameter, span integrity is defined in fuzzy graph. The span integrity values are found for path, cycle, complete fuzzy graph, complete bipartite fuzzy graphs. Path and cycle with node strength sequence are discussed. Brain network is modeled as a fuzzy graph and Span integrity is applied to the brain network. Span integrity of fuzzy brain network is calculated for before and after meditation models. The results are compared and the improvement in the stability of the brain network is shown.

Journal of Intelligent and Fuzzy Systems, 2022
Transport network is the backbone of economy. Every path has some positive and negative attributes such as transportation cost, road condition, traveling time etc., These attribute values are taken as fuzzy membership value with either positive or negative sign when modeling the transport network as signed fuzzy graph. The stability of these type of signed fuzzy graphs are discussed with the help of vulnerability parameters and edge integrity. In this paper, we have introduced complete signed fuzzy graph, signed fuzzy star graph, complement of a signed fuzzy graph, union of two signed fuzzy graph, join of two signed fuzzy graph and cartesian product of two signed fuzzy graphs. For some standard signed fuzzy graph edge integrity value is calculated. Further this concept is applied in supply chain network with three layers, to study its stability and optimum path.

In this paper, we propose the application of the concept of power domination integrity to an electric power network. A phasor measurement unit (PMU) is used to analyze and control the power system by measuring voltage phase in electrical nodes and transmission lines. Due to the high cost of PMUs, it is necessary to minimize the number of PMUs such that the depth of observability is ensured. Placing PMUs in a network can be formulated as a graph theoretic problem of finding the minimum number of nodes (PMUs) in a graph that has a maximum number of links with other nodes. To achieve this, the concept of domination in graph theory is applied to power networks by redefining ``adjacency'' of a vertex as an ``observed'' vertex. The power domination number identifies the number of PMUs to be placed. The proposed concept of power domination integrity gives not only the minimum number of PMUs but also identifies the optimal locations for PMU placement in an electric power network.

Journal of Intelligent and Fuzzy Systems, 2018
The stability of a network is measured by vulnerability parameters. Integrity is one the most important vulnerability parameter in the field of graph network. An uncertain network can be modeled as a fuzzy graph. In this paper, vertex integrity of fuzzy graph is introduced and illustrated with example. Also, we introduced the vertex integrity of the union, join and Cartesian product of two fuzzy graphs and established many interesting results on them. Finally, we discussed edge integrity of fuzzy graph with suitable illustration and investigated many results on edge integrity of fuzzy graph.
