  • Impact of intellectual capital on financial competitiveness in context of listed Indian healthcare enterprises
Deepika Ahlawat, Priti Sharma, Sanjiv Kumar
    Measuring Business Excellence, 2024
Purpose This study aims to determine impact of Intellectual Capital (IC) and its constituents in impacting Financial Competitiveness (FC) of Standard & Poor’s Bombay Stock Exchange Healthcare index constituents for years 2013–2023. Design/methodology/approach This research work used Modified Value-Added Intellectual Coefficients model to gauge IC, whilst an index has been used to apprehend alterations in FC of enterprises. Generalised method of moments (GMM) model was used to determine association between IC and FC of these enterprises. Findings Results demonstrated that IC in entirety had a notable role in FC of healthcare firms. Results showed that human and relational capital had an affirmative role, while structural capital, capital employed and innovation capital had adverse roles in competitiveness. Research limitations/implications This study provides important contributions to academicians, researchers, management, directors and policymakers by equipping them for preparing a roadmap for future performances. Outcomes imply that IC and its segments must be efficaciously managed in the highly knowledge intensive and intricately interconnected healthcare sector, to establish greater competitive acumen thereby rendering improved and superior results. Originality/value This work focusses in lesser researched Indian healthcare sector, scrutinising association between IC efficiency and FC for years 2013–2023.
  • Intellectual capital: a linchpin for sustainable growth of Indian small and medium enterprise
    Priti Sharma
International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business, 2024
In this study an attempt has been made by the author to explore the level of intellectual capital present in the enterprises and to check whether intellectual capital can be a linchpin for the sustainable development of small and medium enterprises. A structured questionnaire with 90 statements from strongly agree to strongly disagree has been used for the collection of data and collected data has been analysed using descriptive statistics. Findings depict that the level of intellectual capital as well as the performance is very low in the sampled enterprises which gives an insight that performance would increase if investment in intellectual capital were to be increased by the enterprises. The results of this paper will help society in gaining awareness that besides other financial or non-financial capital, intellectual capital too plays a very significant role in enhancing the performance of enterprises.
  • Relationship between Dividend Payout and its Determinants: A Meta-Analysis
Divya Saini, Surbhi ., Priti Sharma
    Indian Journal of Finance, 2024
Purpose : The main objective of this study was to statistically combine the outcomes of earlier literature on the relation between dividend pay-out and its determinants by utilizing the meta-analysis technique. Methodology : The analysis included independent characteristics such as size, age, leverage, EPS, cash flow, liquidity, return on assets, return on equity, and lagged dividends. Additionally, the payout of dividends was considered a dependent component. An evaluation of 56 research articles was conducted that emphasized the association between dividend pay-out and its determinants over the period from 2002–2023. The study employed Meta Essential software for meta-analysis of articles selected from the Web of Science and Scopus databases. Findings : The study found an affirmative correlation between dividend payout and ROA, ROE, EPS, cash flow, liquidity, age, size, and lagged dividend. Leverage had a detrimental correlation with dividend payouts. Practical Implications : The primary conclusion of the study was that it synthesized all of the research on the relationship between dividend payout and its variables, which had an impact on policymakers’ decisions and future research. It provides a comprehensive framework that will be useful to investors, corporations, and company regulators. Fisher’s Z transformation, which includes all the studies, can be used to do additional research. Originality : This study extends previous research by using meta-analysis to evaluate the relationship between dividend payout and numerous intrinsic, independent characteristics.

Deepika Ahlawat, Dr. Priti Sharma, Dr. Sanjiv Kumar
    Intangible Capital, 2023
Purpose: This paper intends to contemplate the evolution and growth of green intellectual capital over the period 2008 to 2022, consequences of green intellectual capital, its sectoral classification, current trends and future scope of research.Design/Methodology/Approach: For a better understanding of this concept, a systematically arranged review was performed following PRISMA framework. For this, data has been extracted from Scopus and Web of Science databases. Collected data were confined on the basis of inclusion and exclusion criteria. The paper was sectioned into two types of analysis: bibliometric analysis and content analysis.Findings: Results highlighted that green intellectual capital has important meanings in influencing organisational performance, namely economic, social and financial performance. Findings also deduced that researchers were mainly focused on the manufacturing sector.Practical implications: This study will provide useful insights to researchers, practitioners, managers and policymakers. Findings suggest intangible resource-green intellectual capital should be managed efficaciously which will provide competitive benefits and also contribute to undertakings’ financial, social and environmental performance.Originality/value: The existing literature needs to be apprehended and streamlined for enabling synergy in deciphering its explicit outcomes. Also, there are only a few studies focusing on this construct and on its systematic literature review.
  • Intellectual capital in learning organizations
    S. D. Vashishtha, Priti Sharma
Prabandhan Indian Journal of Management, 2012
Educational Institutions having a proper check on the management of their intellectual capital are enjoying better status in the market. It has been proven many times that by virtue of physical and financial capital, no organization can survive in the market. It is the intellectual capital or the intangibles which work as value enhancers in an organization and aid in the organization attaining great heights in the market. In learning organizations, where input and output both are intangibles. Intellectual capital is the main input, output and value driver of it. Since there is little research in this field, so with the help of this treatise, an attempt has been made by the authors to accentuate the composition of intellectual capital in learning organizations and the relevance of the management of intellectual capital in learning organizations.
