  • Access to Finance: A Potent Force? Investigating Financial Literacy and Performance in Enterprises of Palembang City, South Sumatra, Indonesia
Yuliani Yuliani, Zunaidah Zunaidah, Taufik Taufik
Wseas Transactions on Business and Economics, 2025
The significance of financial performance for the survival of SMEs is undeniable, as reflected in their contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Effectively managing finances is crucial for ensuring the future sustainability of SMEs. This research aims to empirically demonstrate two key aspects. Firstly, it seeks to provide evidence of the direct influence of financial literacy on the financial performance of SMEs. Secondly, it explores the indirect influence of financial literacy on financial performance through the mediation of access to finance. A random sampling technique was employed to select 524 SMEs in Palembang City, South Sumatra, Indonesia, as the unit of analysis. Data collection, conducted through questionnaires, took place from May to July 2023. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was utilized for data analysis. The research findings indicate a significant positive effect of financial literacy on financial performance. Furthermore, access to finance was identified as playing a partial mediating role in the relationship between financial literacy and financial performance. The evidence of partial mediation suggests that SMEs stand to achieve higher financial performance when they can effectively determine efficient funding sources. This research contributes to the understanding of the intricate dynamics between financial literacy, access to finance, and SME financial performance, offering valuable insights for both academia and practitioners. The manager of SMEs can select appropriate external funding sources requires sound financial decision-making, which is influenced by financial literacy. Effective funding choices have an increasing impact on financial performance, which has growing sway.

The intention to invest has a high impact on decision-making. Reinvestment is significantly influenced by intention, decision-making, and trust. The effect of trust has a high impact on reinvestment, which has a significant positive influence on financial satisfaction. This study has made a new contribution to the planning field of financial behavior, regarding investment decisions in terms of monetary assets for unit analysis. However, in further study for businesses or SMEs with unique characteristics, some adjustments are needed in the aspects of testing and model improvement to increase applicability.
  • Role of self-efficacy, knowledge sharing, mediated adaptability and external environment change as moderators of readiness for change
Rismansyah, Mohamad Adam, Perizade Badia, Yuliani Yuliani
Humanities and Social Sciences Letters, 2024
It is vital for higher education to improve its ability to anticipate and implement long-lasting change. Private higher education institutions are currently facing challenges in governance that hinder their ability to upgrade their accreditation grade to "excellent ". The involvement of institutional management is a key factor in enabling these institutions to compete on a national and international level. Research methodology uses confirmatory factor analysis to test the hypotheses developed while structural equation modeling is employed as the equation model. The sample population comprised 16 private tertiary institutions in South Sumatra, Indonesia. The study focused on the heads of study programs resulting in a total of 195 respondents. The results indicated that self-efficacy and knowledge sharing did not have a direct impact on readiness for change whereas adaptability exhibited a direct influence. The study demonstrated that adaptability acts as a mediator between self-efficacy and knowledge sharing towards readiness for change. The final model test results confirmed adaptability as a mediating variable. Additionally, the study revealed that external environmental change did not moderate the relationship between adaptability and readiness for change. Changes of a high calibre that promote a sustained digital education transformation are necessary due to the real-world effects on Indonesia's higher education system. The ability to adapt and embrace new technology is very important factors for higher education performance to face readiness for change in private higher education, especially in management units.
  • On being green in the social media interactivity’s information seeking-sharing: Case of Generation Z in Indonesia
Ignasius Heri Satrya Wangsa, Sulastri Sulastri, Muchsin Saggaf Shihab, Yuliani Yuliani
Journal of Infrastructure Policy and Development, 2024
Social media interactivity creates consumer’s space of information seeking-sharing where its intensity could produce knowledge, creates new values and changes behavior. The aim of this study is to exploratory investigate the dual role of Generation Z’s information seeking-sharing behavior within green context through the interactive space of social media as a resource for the development of social media marketing strategy. The research employs mixed-method approach of qualitative-explorative data mining, quantitative cross-tabulation Chi-Square test, and integration. Two findings of this research are elaborated. First, consumer’s space of information-seeking leads to the process of green awareness rationalization, i.e., how environment-oriented actions can be rationalized. Second, consumer’s space of information-sharing leads to green social values, i.e., How environment-oriented actions can be socially recognized. The marketing implications of these two findings are business’ efforts to develop green-oriented strategic mindset through space of social media marketing “customer engagement” where the dual role of information seeking-sharing within green context is facilitated.
  • Factors Influencing Organizational Readiness for Change in Indonesian Private Universities
Journal of System and Management Sciences, 2024
The first objective of this study is to empirically reveal the influences of selfefficacy, knowledge sharing, and adaptability on the readiness to change as a key novel aspect. The second objective is to analyze the capacity of adaptability to mediate self-efficacy and knowledge sharing against readiness to change. This study is conducted against the backdrop of the low ability of the private higher educational institutions in their governance to improve their accreditation grade to the grade of "Excellent."Therefore, private tertiary institutions must improve their skills and abilities to anticipate and create sustainable changes. They need to improve their performance and their readiness to face the changes that will occur. The involvement of their management as subjects and objects of change is undeniably important in order to be able to compete both nationally and internationally. The samples of this study consist of 16 private tertiary institutions in South Sumatra, Indonesia. The unit of analysis in this study is the head of the study program, totaling 195 respondents. The equation model used is the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).The Confirmatory Factor Analysis was used to test the hypothesis of the study. The test results reveal that self-efficacy and knowledge sharing do not directly impact the readiness to change. While adaptability directly affects readiness to change.Adaptability has been proven to mediate self-efficacy and knowledge sharing against readiness to change. The results of the final test of the model show that the adaptability variable is a mediating variable.Meanwhile, the study results show that the external environmental change variable does not mediate between adaptability and readiness to change.

  • Personality traits, entrepreneurial self efficacy and financial capability effects on entrepreneurial intention
, Ade Maharini Adiandari, Yuliani, , Hendra Winata, and
International Journal of Engineering and Advanced Technology, 2019
This study objectives to show the effect of personality traits on entrepreneurial target by using entrepreneurial self-efficacy as a mediating variable and the financial capability as a moderating variable. The research was conducted on students as representatives of the young generation. Currently, many regions need the creation of new economic resources to improve the community welfare where one of the strategies is by creating young entrepreneurs. For that reason, the involvement of higher education institutions in shaping the student’s mindsets and encouraging their entrepreneurial intention is very important. This study focuses on personality traits accompanied by incorporating elements of entrepreneurial self-efficacy and financial capability as variables that are believed to play a role in encouraging student entrepreneurial objective as a representative of the young generation. The study involved 112 students of the Faculty of Economics who were undergoing their third year of education at the University of Ngurah Rai, Denpasar, Bali. Data was collected through questionnaires and processed using SPLS statistical tools. The findings illustrates that personality traits and entrepreneurial self-efficacy have an important influence on entrepreneurial goal. The discoveries also produce evidence that financial capability does not moderate the effect of personal behaviors on entrepreneurial target, which means that if someone does not have a financial capability, it will not prevent him from entrepreneurship because he has personality traits and/or self-efficacy as an entrepreneur. This finding also shows that higher education institutions could play a part in shaping personality traits and student entrepreneurial self-efficacy early with the preparation of a comprehensive curriculum between theory and practice in order to be able to encourage entrepreneurial intention after students graduate from their college.
