  • Surface Preparation and Characterization of Gamma-Phase Stainless Steel for Nitrogen Ion Implantation: A Comparative Study with Alpha-Phase Stainless Steel
Kosaraju Satyanarayana, Sunil Prakash, Ansh Kataria, Gazal Sharma, Sachin Mittal, Sweta Bhardwaj
    E3s Web of Conferences, 2024
The objective of this work is to examine the process of preparing and characterizing gamma-phase stainless steel for nitrogen ion implantation, therefore comparing its characteristics with those of alpha-phase stainless steel. Proper pre-cleaning of the surface was critical in an effort to reduce residual stress and enhance the effectiveness of ion implantation. Each of these materials was ion sputter etched to remove partially damaged surface layers due to mechanical reasons. Several characterization tools are followed for characterization which include x-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy and confocal microscopy. Minimal values indicate up to a sixty times reduction in microstrain, and the gamma-phase stainless steel exhibited the best result in terms of surface morphology improvement. In another approach, the surface properties of the material for complex biological applications are significantly enhanced.

Sustainable material is an innovative combination of hybrid engineering methods and advanced Multi Criteria Decision that seeks to transform the properties of materials on different surfaces. This scientific inquiry uncovers the transformative framework of Sustainable material. In addition, the study uncovers transformation factors (TF) for the integration of nanomaterials (TF = 1.8), Multi Criteria Decision that resemble biological processes (TF = 2.5), deposition aided by plasma (TF = 1.6), and Multi Criteria Decision made using a sol-gel hybrid method (TF = 2.0). These results demonstrate significant enhancements via the use of substantial experimental data. Biomimicry Multi Criteria Decision surpass conventional Multi Criteria Decision in terms of adhesion strength (22 MPa), abrasion resistance (0.3 mm3), and corrosion protection (300 hours). This is shown by the remarkable improvements seen in coating performance metrics. Sustainable material's adaptability is shown via experiments into material transformation, enhancing surface hardness, hydrophobicity, transparency, and tensile strength over a diverse spectrum of substrates. Environmental resistance assessments emphasize the longevity of Multi Criteria Decision, whereas biomimicry Multi Criteria Decision demonstrate remarkable resistance to UV radiation (600 hours), thermal stability (350 degrees Celsius), and chemical resistance. The precise and comprehensive information provided by percentage change values highlights the distinctive characteristics of Sustainable material, establishing it as a disruptive presence in the world of material science and engineering. This work contributes to the continuing discourse on advanced materials and offers valuable insights that may be used to many sectors such as aeronautical engineering, biomedical engineering, and other related areas.
  • Optimizing Solar-Wind Hybrid Microgrid Designs with Particle Swarm Techniques for Sustainable Energy Integration

    E3s Web of Conferences, 2024
The integrity and lifespan of metallic structures are significantly threatened by corrosion in a variety of sectors. As a result, as compared to traditional coatings, nanocomposite coatings provide improved mechanical qualities and corrosion resistance, making them attractive options for corrosion protection. In this work, sol-gel processing and electrochemical deposition were used to create sustainable nanocomposite coatings including graphene, carbon nanotubes, silica nanoparticles, and zinc oxide. The coatings' characterization showed that the nanoparticles were evenly distributed throughout the matrix, with distinct interfaces and little agglomeration. Testing for corrosion resistance showed that nanocomposite coatings performed better than traditional coatings, with lower corrosion rates and larger corrosion potentials. Higher adhesion strengths and hardness values for nanocomposite coatings were found during mechanical testing; this suggests that the coatings have better mechanical durability and performance in challenging environments. When compared to traditional methods, environmental impact evaluations indicated that sustainable manufacturing procedures might result in lower energy usage, waste creation, and greenhouse gas emissions. The research's overall conclusions highlight the promise of nanocomposite coatings as environmentally friendly corrosion protection options that outperform traditional coatings in terms of performance, durability, and sustainability.
  • Green Synthesis of Nanocomposite Catalysts for Environmental Remediation
Alok Jain, Sunil Prakash, Shubhansh Bansal, Rajeev Sharma, G.V.V. Satyanarayana, Binitendra Naath Mongalc
    E3s Web of Conferences, 2024
This research explores the effectiveness of environmentally friendly nanocomposite catalysts for cleaning up polluted areas. The results of the characterization showed that nanocomposite A had particles that were 20 nm in size, a surface area of 50 m^2/g, and a pore volume of 0.1 cm^3/g. In contrast, nanocomposite E had particles that were 15 nm in size, a surface area of 45 m^2/g, and a greater pore volume of 0.08 cm^3/g. Evaluations of the effectiveness of the catalysts in removing pollutants showed that nanocomposite E was the most effective, with removal percentages of 95% for Pollutant A, 90% for Pollutant B, and 98% for Pollutant C. Analyses of the reaction kinetics showed that nanocomposite E had the best catalytic kinetics, with a rate constant of 0.08 min^-1 and a turnover frequency of 0.003 mol/g/min. As compared to other catalysts, nanocomposite C had the lowest cost per gram and the highest cost efficiency, making it the most cost-effective alternative. With nanocomposite E showing better efficiency in pollutant removal and catalytic kinetics, the results indicate that catalysts made of nanocomposite materials using green techniques might be used for long-term, effective environmental cleanup. Based on these findings, nanocomposite catalysts have great promise for promoting environmental sustainability and protection.
  • A Comparative Study of Digital City Development Using the Data-Driven Smart City Index
Vasilieva Elena, Sunil Prakash, Saurav Dixit, Richa Nangia, Kapil Bhardwaj, CH. M. Shruti
    Bio Web of Conferences, 2024
This research compares and contrasts the evolution of smart cities using a comparative analysis based on the Data-Driven Smart City Index. The study includes four important tables: the Digital City Development Index, which shows City D as a model smart city because of its high Infrastructure, Data Utilization, and Connectivity Scores, offers a thorough summary of the development of smart cities. The three components of the Data-Driven Smart City Index are Environmental Sustainability, Governance, and Quality of Life. City D excels in all three areas. The importance of big data analytics, IoT adoption, and open data usage—all of which City D leads—is emphasized in Data Utilization in Digital City Development. Lastly, Connectivity Infrastructure in Digital Cities emphasizes the significance of cutting-edge technology, with City D leading the way in terms of availability of public Wi-Fi, 5G network connectivity, and fiber broadband coverage. These results provide insightful information that will help stakeholders, politicians, and urban planners advance cities into the digital age and improve the quality of life for citizens.
