  • Detection of Apple Fruit Diseases Using Deep Learning

    Apples are among the most widely consumed fruits worldwide; however, their production is significantly affected by diseases such as scab, rot, and blotch, which lead to severe economic losses in the apple industry. Traditional visual inspection by experts is costly, time-consuming, and inconsistent, highlighting the need for an automated detection system to address these issues. With the advancement of deep learning, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have become an effective tool for classifying plant diseases. In this study, a prototype apple disease classification system was developed using image processing techniques and the ResNet-50 architecture implemented in a Python environment. The Plant Pathology Apple Dataset was used for training and testing, with preprocessing applied to optimize the image quality before classification. The experimental results demonstrated that the number of epochs significantly influenced the system performance, with an accuracy ranging between 98% and 100% across 10 epoch configurations. Although fluctuations due to overfitting were observed, ResNet50 showed superior performance compared with traditional algorithms, indicating its strong potential for real-world agricultural applications.
  • Improved LOPCOW-SAW Method for Optimal Supplier Selection in Supply Chain Management

    Supplier selection is a critical component of Supply Chain Management (SCM), as suppliers provide raw materials or services essential for supporting a company's operations. Traditional supplier selection methods often rely on subjective assessments to determine the weighting of criteria, which can lead to biases and suboptimal decision making. To address this issue, this study combines the Logarithmic Percentage Change of Weight (LOPCOW) method with the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to enhance objectivity in the supplier selection process. The LOPCOW method is used to assign criterion weights objectively based on logarithmic percentage changes, which helps minimize subjectivity, These weights are then applied using the SAW method to evaluate and rank suppliers. The results of the study show that this combined approach is more reliable for selecting suppliers objectively and accurately. The study suggests integrating other Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methods to further strengthen the results while recommending the inclusion of real-time data analytics to improve the model's adaptability to dynamic market conditions. The LOPCOW-SAW approach can be applied across various industries for more effective and efficient SCM supplier selection.

    Abstract PT. Brainmatics Cipta Informatika is an IT Training and Consulting company located in Jakarta. The development of a company can not be separated from the role of employees in it. The success assessment of existing human resources apart from the aspect of success in the field of work is also inseparable from the assessment of the conditions including the assessment of attendance. Problems that occur at PT. Cipta Cipta Brainmatics is the process of existing employee attendance, attendance is done by using Odoo’s web based Enterprise Resource Planning system that stores employee data on coming and outgoing hours that can be accessed anywhere without any location or area restrictions, so employees can do attendance at anywhere, even without having to come to the office. Based on these problems, an Android-based attendance application was designed by utilizing the Location Based Service (LBS) feature that can be operated using a smartphone and can be used with a limited area determined for the attendance process. This application was built with the Java programming language using Android Studio, PostgreSQL and Objecbox software as its database. It is expected that the application that is designed can resolve the attendance issues that exist at PT. Brainmatics Cipta Informatika.
