Quantum Frontiers: Navigating the Challenges of Cybersecurity and Adversarial Machine Learning. Shruti Bamboria, Kiran R. Dodiya, Kapil Kumar Optimizing Business Operations with Quantum AI, 2026 This chapter examines the intersection of quantum computing, cybersecurity, and adversarial machine learning (AML), outlining both transformative opportunities and emerging risks. Quantum computing, leveraging superposition and entanglement, offers unparalleled computational speed-ups but simultaneously threatens classical cryptographic protocols via Shor's and Grover's algorithms. Meanwhile, AML reveals vulnerabilities in machine learning systems through evasion, poisoning, and inference attacks, posing risks in healthcare, finance, and autonomous domains. Quantum power could accelerate adversarial exploits yet also enhance defenses through anomaly detection, quantum key distribution, and hybrid quantum–classical security models. Persistent challenges—error correction, scalability, cost, and integration—limit deployment. The chapter underscores the urgency of adopting post-quantum cryptography, fortifying AML defenses, and promoting collaboration between quantum scientists and cybersecurity experts, concluding with a roadmap for building resilient, quantum-secure infrastructures.

Decrypting the Shadows Forensics and Investigation of Ransomware Attacks Shashank Dave, Kiran R. Dodiya, Kapil Kumar AI Driven Cybersecurity Insurance Innovations in Risk Governance and Digital Resilience, 2025 Ransomware encrypts critical files using algorithms like AES and RSA, demanding payment for decryption. Investigators struggle to recover data without the original keys, as attackers often erase logs and conceal activity. Securing backups is essential to reduce damage. Forensic experts examine network traffic, memory dumps, and system logs to trace ransomware behavior. Tools like Wireshark and NetFlow detect unusual C2 connections. Evidence is preserved using file carving, hash analysis, and imaging. Ransom notes, IPs, and cryptographic signatures help identify attackers. Blockchain analysis tracks crypto payments, aided by law enforcement and exchanges. Understanding exploits and social engineering boosts defense.

The Role of Digital Technologies, Governance, and Sustainability in Unlocking the Smart Cities Challenges Kuldipsinh R. Mori, Kiranbhai R. Dodiya Futureproofed Sustainability Amidst Climate Change Polycrisis Advancing Sdgs and Esg for the Cities of Tomorrow, 2025 Smart cities utilize IoT, AI, and data analytics to enhance urban living through improved resource management, public services, and quality of life. However, challenges like device interoperability, high costs, and vast data management hinder progress. Socio-economic disparities pose issues, as underserved communities often lack access to the necessary technology, increasing inequality. Governance challenges, including political resistance, regulatory inconsistencies, and insufficient frameworks, further slow smart city projects. Privacy and security concerns arise due to extensive data collection, raising risks of cyberattacks and unauthorized access. Environmental sustainability is also questioned, as connected systems require significant energy and produce electronic waste. Examples like South Korea's Songdo and India's Smart Cities Mission illustrate both opportunities and obstacles. To ensure sustainability, equity, and security, addressing technological, social, and governance challenges is essential for realizing the full potential of smart cities.
